I'm sure this will show up in the Skully tomorrow, but according to the NOPD, a loaded weapon was found in Smith's vehicle:
While this makes Smith's death no less tragic, I think it changes the narrative a little. Someone getting shot over road rage, no matter who the aggressor is, is as senseless a death as it gets. But this coupled with the video of Smith rear-ending the other guy first is going to make this a lot more complicated than originally thought. The eye witness testimony of Smith's other passengers will hopefully answer any remaining questions.
