A lot of people, my age reminisce about how great the 1998 OSU football team was, despite not winning the National Championship.  A lot of fans my father's age remember the greatness of the 1969 team, also failing to win the National Title.

I was thinking about the last time Ohio State played Notre Dame, after the 2005 season....thinking about all the talent on the field that day, and then in turn, what those players accomplished, when they came back and played in 2006.....again, 1 loss from Immortality.

How about this year's squad? I shouldn't do it, but I'm assuming OSU comes out focused and beats Notre Dame, making them another 1 loss Ohio State team filled with talent, but a few inches away from the threshold.

if these teams played in a 4 team playoff, who would come out on top?

I would seed the teams, giving respect to the elders, as follows
