There are 72 days that separate us from Ohio State's march to Blacksburg. To help pass the time until the Buckeyes put the Sandman to sleep I will countdown Ohio State's top 100 players according to the rubric* listed at the bottom of this article.

Kirk Barton

BARTON'S CURRENT JOB AND OHIO STATE PLAYING CAREER PER THE OHIO STATE TEAM GUIDE:

Former Ohio State offensive line All-American Kirk Barton serves as the quality control assistant for the Buckeye offense. He accepted that position in August, 2010, while working toward a master's degree in business administration.

Team captain in 2007, Barton was named first team All-America and was the first player to start and win four Michigan games for the Buckeyes. He helped the Buckeyes to two BCS championship appearances, as well as Fiesta and Alamo Bowl bids. A two-year all-Big Ten selection and a Big Ten academic all-conference honoree, he received his degree in history from Ohio State in 2007. Drafted by the NFL's Chicago Bears, Barton spent stints with the Bears, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos.

A graduate of Perry High in Massillon, Ohio, Barton and his wife Brittany, an Ohio State graduate and Chesapeake, Ohio, native, live in Columbus.
