Gene Smith, AD tOSU, and Chet Gladchuk, AD US Naval Academy, are two of four finalists for the 2016 Sports Business Awards Athletic Director of the Year. Smith won this award previously in 2010.
Just read it in a press release on the Navy Sports information page, and felt it was worth a share here. I was surprised I couldn't find any mention of it on local news sites or even the OSU Sports info page. The other finalists are Oklahoma's Joe Castiglione and Stanford's Bernard Muir.
The winners in all categories will be announced at a ceremony on May 18th in NYC. Best of luck to my two favorite ADs.
Methinks That Coach with #Twitterfingers ought to concentrate more on his team and less on internet fights with one of the best ADs in the business.
