Sunday Metal Shop comes to you from the harsh and blustery badlands of North Dakota to bring you the groove/desert/stoner sound of Egypt. As we all learned in our history books, Egypt has been around since 2005 and they started as a three-piece. Their self-produced, self-titled demo EP came the same year but the band broke up in 2006. The album, however, lived on.
“Egypt” was picked up by a couple of minor labels and was given a wider release. The band got together for a one-off show in Fargo in 2010 and they ultimately reunited. They released their first full-length album, “Become the Sun”, in 2013 and did some touring, playing with bands like Crowbar, Wo Fat, Truckfighters and Orange Goblin. Two weeks ago the band released their latest EP, “Endless Flight”, and more music is on the way in 2016.
If you liked the music from previously featured SMS bands Mississippi Bones and Gudger, I think you might like Egypt.
