Most people who live in big cities have been there: Walking out to your car, only to find some idiot criminal swiped it and drove off. If only hit-skip victims were lucky to be watched over by the eyes of Virginia running backs coach Mark Atuaia.

From richmond.com:

Assistant coach Mark Atuaia, who coaches the Cavaliers running backs, was on a recruiting visit in Davie, Fla., when he stopped into a Publix grocery store for his traditional snack of Diet Mountain Dew and Fig Newtons.

As he was leaving the store, he saw a car hit a woman and go driving off.

[...]

"My car was still on, so I put it into drive, and I went to chase the car. All I was going to try to do was just get a license plate then come back."

The driver stopped at a red light, which I guess is a reasonable line to draw after mowing somebody down in a Publix parking lot. That's where Atuaia made his move and pinned the car in, took out his keys, and threw them on his car roof. The long arm of Publix security arrived on the scene shortly thereafter.

The victim was treated for injuries at a nearby hospital. The driver, whose name was unreleased, says the front window fogged up as it was raining outside.

Three-star DL Tyrsten Hill committed shortly thereafter, obviously.
