Jeff Heuerman Will Wear No. 5 to Honor Braxton Miller Today

By 11W Staff on August 30, 2014 at 10:13a
Jeff Heuerman's jersey for the Navy game, honoring Braxton Miller with the No. 5.

Braxton Miller may be out for the season, but his No. 5 will be on the field today as tight end Jeff Heuerman has changed his number from 86 to Miller's five when the Buckeyes face Navy today at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium.

And here's a shot of Heuerman in warmups today:

I think it'd be a cool sign of respect if a different offensive player wore #5 each week.

Totally agree on this!  Would be an awesome tribute to Braxton.

What's round on the ends and high in the middle? Tell me if you know!

Only fitting that an exceptional leader on the team wears it to honor another exceptional leader.

Classy move. Go bucks!

I preferred my suspensions out of school. I needed to check in on what those Hollywood Squares were up to.

Yet another example of how these teams truly become families. Bravo Jeff!

I called it it when Miller went down but wasn't sure who would be the guy to honor him. Someone on here gave me the smart a$$ McMillan is wearing 5.

Do work Heuerman!

Between this and the Fuck Cancer shirt, I am becoming a huge fan of Heuerman's wardrobe. That dude is pure class and leadership, in my opinion. Good players < Good people. We have good people by the boat load.

Nobody panic

Here's hoping Heuerman does't aggravate his ankle injury. I don' expect to see him on the field much.

Absolutely awesome to see this.

Pure awesome, I think it's really cool to honor your injured brother by wearing his number. Heuerman this year for Miller and Shazier last year for Bryant. Classy move by awesome players.
