Iowa's New Football Building is Going to be Nice
Iowa will open the new Hawkeye Football Operations Center in the fall of 2014. Located a short walk from Kinnick Stadium, the 72,000 square foot facility features a three level Hall of Champions, meeting and player recreation areas, a weight room and a new indoor football field.
This is the kind of thing you hope schools are spending their network checks on. For Iowa, it means being able to show recruits a shining football cathedral instead of "the bubble."
We're also seeing more and more schools build interactive fan museums of sorts. While Ohio State doesn't necessarily need something like that, you have to wonder how much longer it will be until we see some type of public exhibit space at the WHAC.

Three levels? I guess they're hoping to grow into the space? Although, I suppose this will be a nice place to show off all of Ferentz's COY awards.
Maybe in Iowa they're big into minimalism:
Maybe one of the levels is his private bank vault??

Facility of the Year!!!!!
They looked, but decided against using Florida based contractors
If Denard Robinson isn't careful with spooning all that food into his mouth, he's going to end up lookin' like Whoopi Goldberg
This is definitely what the big ten teams need to do. Anyone know who has the worst facilities?
Northwestern is generally thought of as having the worst facilities with Wisconsin and Purdue not far behind.
Northwestern will be redoing their facilities soon...

Very cool to actually see them put some serious effort forward. That looks like it will be a very nice facility; let's hope they use it to actually recruit competitively!
anybody catch the name of that cutie in the jean skirt by the first trophy case?

Ha ha, but that was actually Lara Croft.
Pretty FOC-ing nice. Football Operations Center at University Place (FOC-UP) is more apt for Iowa, but FOC works I guess.
Had no idea David Guetta was a Hawkeye fan. Terrible, terrible music.
At times I felt like I was taking part in an 80's workout video, and other parts reminded me of running races on Need for Speed on playstation several several years ago...
Glad to see this as it hopefully will increase the level of recruits and the caliber of play with Iowa. Hopefully the rest of the B1G take notes.
Hall of Champions? Wouldn't that require having championships?
"Cool music!" Said no one that ever watched that video.

OSU will need 72,000 ft^2 just for the "hall of champions" given how many greats we had over the years...

Hawkeyes: The SIMS!
Sounds terribly boring.
I actually really like the section of field turf that is in the weight room. That could lend itself to some pretty creative workouts.
Looks similar to what one will have in 5 years.
Where's the running back burial grounds?

I always kind of envisioned that to be like Pet Sematary where they bury the dead Iowa RBs and they come back and get hurt even worse LOL

No pink locker room in this facility. Too bad.
Hey Iowa. Considering you have made a lot of money off all of our bcs games over the years. Your welcome.
Unlike most of the B1G, Iowa has actually won a BCS game.
