I was pretty amazed to see how many open seats there were against Northwestern last week. I guess there's a reason they're called the quietest 100K fans in the nation. The stadium is a joke, their fans are a joke, and the entire school is generally pathetic.

He knows how to spin a story though. Just ask all the slappies and they will tell you that hoke was actually the first choice to be the coach and the plane only landed in BR and Stanford to refuel on the way to pick up hoke in San Diego.

I don't think it is just them. Kids just don't seem to go to sporting events anymore, even at the high school level.
Give the kids a break. It is the one day of the week they can sit in the cafeteria and eat a lunch at a nice leisurely pace without Coach Hoke poking his finger at their plate and asking "Are you going to finish that?"
This story pretty much fits in with what I've always thought of Michigan fans. They'll crow when their team wins (less crowing over the course of the last ten years, it should be noted) and slink back to "we don't care" when they lose. Their stadium is a much larger version of Northwestern's. No passion. Fuck them.
Love Tom Izzo, though.

UM allots more student tickets than OSU does and I don't think they have to pay for them. Very different styles, demographics, and culture at UM plays a big factor.

In one of the comments a tsun fan was blaming the problem on the "me" generation of students. We have the same generation of fans as them and we dont have this problem. Typical tsun fan placing blame on everything but themselves.
I don't think it's the "me" generation. Our student section fills up just fine. It's UM fans.
isn't it funny how quickly the narrative changes from crucifying penn state for the "worshipping of football" to now criticizing michigan for not having their students worship football? Not trying to stoke any flames, just pointing it out
