I'm with ya on this. I think the B1G should tell ND to pound sand. Notre Dame has played in prime time the last two weeks by playing Sparty and AACC. It's time for them to be in a league. The B1G shouldn't be "helping" them out. ND is 3-0 against the Big Ten this year. That still doesn't seem correct.
Ouch. Seeing that stat in writing really.....sucked. I imagine they're quite proud of themselves - They haven't been 3-0 against the B1G in a long long time.

"The decision to cancel games in 2015-17 was Notre Dame's and not ours. We value our annual rivalry with Notre Dame but will have to see what the future holds for any continuation of the series. This cancellation presents new scheduling opportunities for our program and provides a chance to create some new rivalries."
What he means is this:
"This decision made by Notre Dame allows for new scheduling opportunities for our program and provides us the opportunity to play each directional school within our state."
Good. Now they can truly embrace the acc-ness of their new existence. Going to bcs bowls and getting 70 points dropped on them. Sounds eerily similar to their old existence
Makes sense, they would rather play broke down Miami and the VaTech chokies. I dont get this move by ND. But I stand by the B1G for not giving in to a partial member. I wanted Notre Dame in the B1G, but if they won't join, screw em. Let them play in the ACC, and let their local fans have to travel halfway across the country to attend an away game.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
In the long run it'll be easier for the 'Domers to beat up on shitty ACC teams instead of B1G teams. Them playing against Navy is a tradition they want to keep, and playing USC not only gets them on the west coast for their fans, but also helps them feel relevant.
Did anyone else never get that excited for the ND-scUM game? I am usually all about watching rivalry games regardless, even stupid ones like Minnesota-Wisconsin, but that one just never has/had any luster for me.

It was the annual meteor bowl for me (for those unaware, the meteor bowl is when you want both teams to lose and hope the stadium is struck and destroyed by a large celestial object falling from the sky).
The UM-ND game had the highest rating of all the Saturday games. It beat FSU-Clemson and OU-KSU. I am sure NBC is thrilled to replace that with the ND-Duke game.
Well, it gives scUM a chance at getting revenge with my alma mater, Toledo. The Rockets would love to go up 2-zip on the Wolver-weenies after they beat scUM 13-10 in 2008.
Curious why they kept Purdue and let Michigan go...They must have known the way Hoke is recruiting they would never beat them again. Michigan State is only on the schedule for one more year.
There was some serious bad blood between Michigan and Notre Dame in the past. Basically Michigan tried to blackball ND from playing anyone in the B1G. Sparty and Purdue were the only ones who kept playing ND. So I guess they're prioritizing those two longer-standing rivalries.
If Michigan, MSU, and Purdue all drop their annual matchup with ND it makes a tiny bit more room to go back to the table and restart the conversation with the PAC-12 on the annual intersectional matchup idea... I would love that!
I hope TSUN uses the opportunity to keep scheduling big matchups like they did this year with Alabama, as opposed to kind of counting on Notre Dame to be the signature out-of-conference opponent. This will be crucial come 2014 and playoff time.

I say they set something up with Appalachian State University.
Actually, App State will be going to Ann Arbor in 2014.

I thought they would have cancelled with Purdon't or MSU first. I'm still for the entire B1G saying no to ND.

And the team that gave ND the best game was...Purdue.

Fundamentals are a crutch for the talentless.
Have a nice life, enjoy the ACC, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The B1G.
p.s but, but whattabout USC and Navy......Shut up.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.

UM/ND was my Schadenfreude Bowl. It's fun figuring out each year whose fans I want to be more miserable.
I clicked on it... I regretted it immediately...
Watching this game always made me feel dirty anyway...

This is going to anger the really old Michigan/Notre Dame fans who can remember when this game meant something.
To err is human. Really sucking requires having yellow stripes on your helmet.
Now I'm going to have to find some other game to find truly brutal quarterback play in the future.

The agreement was killed by unspecified mid-level PAC schools. Making room on the B1G side isnt going to matter.
I'd like to see a similar agreement with the Big 12 or the SEC. If the PAC doesnt want to play then fine, we'll see them in the Rose Bowl.
