ARGH I hate this crap. Don't mess with the iconic uniforms, especially in one of the traditional great rivalries in the sport. I've never liked the alternate unis, but at least use them during... uh, any game but the Michigan game.
Agreed on this completely. I don't mind the new unis being worn once. But for The Game there is no craziness needed. In fact I would prefer if both teams always wore there home jerseys regardless of where the game is played because I don't like the white ones for either team as much.
Who cares? They could be out there in G-strings and bras, and all I'd care about is if they win or not. Sure our uniforms look great, but if tampering with them for one game gets players and recruits excited, then what does it matter? Uniform tradition is so overrated anyway, give me Oregon's plethora of uniform options over Penn State's geriatric design any day of the week.
Agree. Honestly I wouldn't mind if every season the uniform were slightly different ala European club soccer uniforms. The bones would remain very much the same, but there could be some variation from season to season. OSU fans are so big on wearing a jersey with a number on it that refers to a specific player so in this scenario you'd be able to specifically point a certain season.
Yes yes yes. I'm an Arsenal fan, so I love their Red & White home jersey, but I'm always excited to see what they use for their away jersey as that is changed annually. If college football teams were to implement something like this, I think it would be great.
I agree with you William, for the most part, except: the thought of any CFB team dressing up in G-strings, bras and (six-inch heels) is a true nightmare.

recruits love it, and honestly, people act like ohio state has had the same uniform for all of time. as a matter of fact, we've seen variations every decade. NOT. BIG. DEAL.
In general, I totally agree, CBM. But the last thing I want to see is diamond plating in The Game. 1954 throw-backs? Totally. 1942 throwbacks? Turned out a little clownish, but alright it's do-able. Diamond plating? We're not Oregon. Repeat. We're not Oregon. Defcon 1.
this helmet, the more i look at it, looks like something nike would do. I really don't think someone would go through the production of this helmet without a reason. This might be part of the uniform for this upcoming season. I'm not completely opposed to it yet, i would need to see the whole uniform.
They called them rivalry jerseys last year for the Wisconsin game, too. So until they specifically say its for the game against TTUN, I won't get agitated. I wouldn't mind them for Nebraska, Sparty, or Wisconsin.
relax guys they haven't messed up our alternates yet so why doubt them now? im sure they will look fine, however I say we just go back to the 1996-2005 style uniforms and call it a day...
i dont think thoes are suppose to be a pro combat but perhaps a change to our main unis...that is of course if that picture is anything new at all or even means anything...it does however looks a little different than our current ones, the shoulder numbers are larger and the pants are greyer with a mildly different stripe down the leg, the arm stripes look maybe different but its too blury to tell.
How is this news or how is anyone surprised by this anymore? Just assume it's going to happen once a year until notified otherwise.
And for everyone moaning about these, keep in mind that recruits love them. It's a matter of keeping up with the Joneses at this point. Just be thankful we're not an Adidas school.

Hate this. Gimmick up a game that's less important, i.e. any other game.

Ugh. I can't stand all this uniform junk. Hopefully the youngsters like it or I'm tolerating eyesores and unnecessarily-innovative crap for no reason.
Might be time to send a letter to the athletic director.
everyone....relax. we've won every time we've worn them..that's all i'm saying.

I actually liked that yellow jersey. Now this yellow jersey was horrendous, whereas their new purple jerseys are the tits.

Yea, the image of BJ Raji doing the "Raji" in that outfit has me fighting like mad to hold my lunch down. William...you sir are a scoundrel.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
As long as it looks legit, then Im happy...I am also in favor of not using it for the Michigan game, Nebraska game sounds about right.
I think it's a nice change every year! Being undefeated in the alternate jerseys helps me make up my mind!

The unis that leak at this point in the year for OSU have a 100% inaccuracy rate. Let's not call defcon 1 just yet
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
the 1942 uniforms were the most accurate to the time out of all the ones they've worn. the jerseys have been my favorite so far.

ERRRRRRHMAAAAAAHHHHHHHHGERRRRRRRRRRRD DON'T CHANGE AN ICONIC UNIFORM, THAT WAS CHANGED IN 2006!!!!!!
It goes a long way for recruiting, and it's in the contract with Nike.

Nike has done a good job on our pro combat uniforms thus far. Un-bunch your panties.

I actually hope it's a homage to the team pre-2006 with the jerseys we wore when we won the MNC

At least we aren't Michigan. They've worn like 4 alternates in the past 12 months.
