My Uncle basically admitted the same.  He's originally from Canada and lived in TSUN for a while, and that's where he met my Aunt.  Now they're living in Ohio.  He said his Dad has actually been a Buckeye fan all along even though he lived in TSUN for quite a while.  His Dad is now in Florida.

In short, my Uncle was living in TSUN with his Dad and family, and he chose to be a scUM fan to be different than his Dad who was a Buckeye fan.  I'm guessing that's a little unusual when it happens in TSUN...

So he's one of those...

Of course he is.  Just like most of the Ohio born and bred AACC fans.  Most of the people I know that live in Ohio, but root fot TSUN do so to piss off Daddy or to be contrarian.  Trolls.

As much as I HATE HATE HATE UM, that was a good interview. I hate when a person I loathe is humanized, digusting........

I wonder how my ummmmms the reporter had to remove from Hoke's responses?

Brady Hoke basically admits that he became a TTUN fan to be a dick to his friends. And TTUN fans, alums, and players are okay with this? Just mind boggling....

I hate it when they don't include the entire quote. The actual quote goes like this...
"I think I started rooting for Michigan just to be different. But then, as my fasination with the concept of 'all-you-can-eat' began to kick in, I found that sweat pants big enough to fit around my waist only came in Michigan colors, so that settled that."

To err is human. Really sucking requires having yellow stripes on your helmet.

Well, see!  There is a logical and more utilitarian reason for Flounders fandom.  Pants size trumps everything.

I understand Hoke's motivation; I too have taken positions just because I thought it might get a rise out of the people around me.
Then I turned 10.

I'm rooting for That Team Up North this week. There, I said it. I've been debating this internally for MONTHS and I've finally concluded that the Benefits of AlabamaRRRRRR losing outweighs the negatives of hearing Michigan chirp for a couple more months. After wll, we DO get our crack at them in November. Also, Michigan will ALWAYS be there for us to root against. They aren't going away. On the other hand, this is one of the few REAL shots the Civilized part of the Nation has at unseating the M*F*KINGKLSDMF@() SEC GOD I HATE THEM SO MUCH. BEAT THOSE REDNECKS DENARD! I FEEL FILTHY TYPING THIS

[ EDIT: from a pure OSU point of view, only one of the two teams is on our schedule. The better our scheduled opponents are the higher the chance that we manage to pull of the whole UNDEFEATED/Split Nat'l Champions dream that everyone is SECRETLY hoping for, ok. Emotions aside, it's in OUR benefit to root for M1chigan against the eSECpn CABAL]

Brady Hoke wanted to be a cop. Why am I not surprised?

As much as people might not like this, it works both ways there are a ton of buckeye fans from Michigan who have the same story in reverse.
