I've been critical of Matta for his thin bench and not giving his younger players the game time to develop, but Sibert had a good many chances and simply wasn't delivering.
Exactly. He made the right move. Now we just have to hope he doesn't go shooting 40% in the A-10 a couple years down the road causing some folks to assume he would've done the same here.
It's still the A-10 but I'll take my chances. I don't see Sibert's ceiling being high enough to lose sleep over having his scholly freed up for Thad to make a run at someone else down the line.
This is a great move for Jordan. He'll be able to go in and compete immedately for big minutes (which couldn't be guaranteed in a crowded back court with the Bucks), he'll be playing for Archie Miller and Kevin Kuwik (both off the Matta coaching tree), and the A10 is well-known for being a guard-dominant league. Best of luck to JS in his journey with the Flyers.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Hood. I watched a few Miss St. games, and this kid has good length and can flat out stroke it. Actually in a lot of ways, his game is similiar to that of LqR but he's a better defender. Not sure if this would sway him away or not, but it's likely they would be competing for minutes. However, if he does come and Thad could find a way to get 2 6'8 guys who can handle and shoot on the floor together? Talk about a matchup nightmare!
They talked to Paul Keels (sp?) on 97.1 and he said this is not final. Sibert could stay as the tweet Alex posted might indicate. Jordans brother made a comment that any transfer decision at this time is purely speculation.

Hoping for a Walter Offut type transformation for Jordan.

Good luck to Sibert.

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
Not a shock. Career 29-30% shooter and 25-26% from 3. Didn't figure to play much behind Scott, Smith, Craft, Ross, and Thompson.

As long as it's not 40% from the 3 point line.

Yep, might have been the 1st guard off the bench in 2013-2014 here if he was lucky.

...if this next year doesn't count as immediately.
Right, after sitting out 1 year.
Same with Hood should he transfer. That's the crazy thing with this year's team. Soooo young that all the guards should still be here in 2013-14.
