PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
Great job Chris. I hope we show up and crush them.

Hate Novak! As for the some of the readers' comments, he doesn't need to do anything to be offensive.
Anyone in the Matta "not being able to win big in the Dance" needs to get a grip. We got beat by a very athletic UK team last year, big deal.
Ohio State basketball was, for the most part, irrelevant to the rest of the country before Thad. I don't care what the reason may be (ie: all he does is recruit) Thad has helped OSU Basketball become top notch.
Stop and smell the roses for goodness sake!
I don't disagree with you - Ohio State can't do better than Thad Matta but I do think it's realistic that a certain population of fans will increasingly question his tourney resume if this team fails to get out of the Sweet 16 again.
OSU basketball has gained so much talent, and has become so fun to watch that rarely are Matta's X's and O's discussed during game broadcasts. Most focus during broadcasts is on the OSU talent and how they are performing. To win games you need to make baskets, and OSU has struggled shooting the ball in the clutch (Buford.. sorry) in it's last few losses.
OSU has had what 7 or 8 losses in the past 2 years? This run OSU has been on under Matta is by far more interesting, to me, than watching a coach scheme ways to get his under-talented team to out perform a more talented team.
If you want to watch coaching go watch Duke.
I'll take the excitement of watching a super-talented team putting it all together and stomping a "Duke" from time to time, over watching a Princeton style offense being needed to keep you in the game against a CBB heavey-weight.
I agree. The overly criticized minutes and x's and o's following every single game, especially in 20-30 point blowouts is exasperating to say the least. Spare. Us. All.
Heh, I work with the guy who runs UMHoops
I posed this question the other day, but Chris, what do you think about this: Do you think we should have gone after Trey Burke as opposed to Shannon Scott? I'm not disappointed with Scott's play, but is seems to me that Trey Burke was much more ready to compete at a higher level from day 1. Shannon Scott is lacking in offensive game aside from distribution, and aside from Iowa hasn't contributed much besides breather minutes. Also, I know Matta has stated that he likes to recruit kids who have played/won together before college, and obviously Burke had gone to high school with Sully and Spoon. Just asking for thoughts...
