As such, any allegations of major rules violations must meet a burden of proof, which is a higher standard than rampant public speculation online and in the media.

But anyway... That bodes well for us. Gene Smith has been beating this drum with the NCAA a lot thus far. I like it. Gene Smith may prove way more valuable then he is given credit for around here.

Denny, love the dancing bear (saw Furthur at RedRocks last weekend). I'm just really, really, really, really, really tired of looking at the structure of the NCAA. It seems funny (as I do my damnedest? to avoid political jargon) that, as of the last numbers i can recall, there are 7-9 people making about a MiLLION$$$ a year at NCAA Corp. For what? I mean, if players can go out and play for free (loose term) while the school makes a jillion $$ off of them and then basically gives kickbacks to the NCAA... well, i guess the reality is that it's nothing more than a RACKET. I could go on and on about my thoughts of that org. but I've had a few too many tonight. GO BUCKS!!!
PS--Great BIG costume party on Campus for EAT TOO weekend!!! Lets Rally.
I was told that it was the NCAA, not Nam - that there are rules.
Are we sure about that? In this version of the story, The Dude - who is not without sin, mind you - actually does become the fall guy, while the "Big" offenders walk free and clear and get to keep the loot. And, of course, Walter would be impressed by the sophistication of the PSYOPs being run.
The SEC West has meanwhile won zero Super Bowls. They continue to lag far behind their professional brethern in Green Bay, Pittsburgh, and New England (all in "Yankee territory").

TOSU has paid $142,000 in legal fees to represent our guys @ the NCAA. Someone is paying a lot more to get our guys crucified at the same aforementioned organization.I just wonder who?
I'm confused...... nowhere in the statement from the NCAA does it say that a ruling has been issued. They only said the investigation is complete. Seems to me, Auburn isn't off the hook yet.
AC - I don't think the NCAA would close the investigation without issuing the notice of allegations (or whatever the document is called), if there were one to be issued. Also, the statement provides that, "As with any case, should the enforcement staff become aware of additional credible information, it will review the information to determine whether further investigation is warranted." Though not explicit, that language, and the rest of the statement, tells me there will be no further action on the Cash Newton saga.

Strange. The NCAA's letter to Auburn says they conducted 50+ interviews:

Techinically, 80 interviews is "over 50", they rounded down.

I would still rather quit the NCAA and play USC 12 times a season. F*@# those punks.

I think we need to drop everything and figure out who in our alternate NCAA universe is going to be played by Flea.

What happened to Danny Sheridan and the "Bag Man"?

I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
We apparently need to hire better lawyers.

Just goes to show OSU can't hang with the SEC -- the Buckeyes actually get caught. The NCAA's ruling here is akin to the OJ verdict.
Indeed:

I know someone who wasn't interviewed who has names and details specifically implicating Miss State and Auburn.

But will that someone talk to the NCAA?

He forwarded all of his information to the NCAA yesterday after the ruling because he is pissed.
vacuuming sucks
Why isn't he screaming in public, if he's that mad?

Correction he has not sent his info to the NCAA.
