Marshon Lattimore is Number 21

Marshon Lattimore Makes 21

This Gray Box should catch no one by surprise, as four-star athlete Marshon Lattimore of Cleveland Glenville has committed to Ohio State over Alabama and Georgia Tech. The long awaited commitment came, as expected, during the All-American game.

Rumors swirled on Thursday night that Lattimore had committed to Kentucky, but those rumors were quickly deemed bogus. Despite the rumors, there was never a doubt that the highly rated athlete would wear the Scarlet and Gray at the next level. The Cleveland native's crystal ball unanimously had him pegged for the Buckeyes.

The Marshon Lattimore File

  • Size: 6-0/175
  • Position: DB/ATH
  • Class: 2014
  • School: Glenville (Cleveland, Ohio)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★★

Ranked as the no. 36 prospect in the nation, Marshon Lattimore could have an instant impact for Ohio State. While he does not plan to enroll early, the Buckeyes will be looking to replace three of four starters in the secondary. The six-foot, 175 pound prospect is expected to start his career off as corner under Kerry Coombs. Ohio's top prospect, according to 247Sports' composite ranking, could also be a factor in OSU's special teams game.

Lattimore's commitment comes after high school teammate Erick Smith committed to Ohio State earlier in the game. After adding the Glenville Duo, the coaching staff will now shift focus to rounding out the 2014 recruiting class.

As always, stay tuned to Eleven Warriors for the latest Ohio State recruiting news as Ohio State looks to wrap up "Dream14" in the last month before National Signing Day.

Highlights? Here are some highlights of the four-star prospect from the OHSAA State Championship Game.

When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

It'll be quite interesting to see where he winds up playing at OSU - I think he prefers (and everyone assumes) he will play CB and that will probably be the case but he is electric with the ball in his hands. Think he will be encouraged to give WR a try.
Another great pickup for the Buckeyes today! Welcome Marshon!

Haha who the fuck made up the UK rumor in the first place? Do you think that maybe the Glenville trio made it up and spread it around to create some controversy and trolling, and in turn making their commitment more of a mystery?

Wow, Smith looks bigger than I imagined.  Guess that's why he's able to be such a physical player.

Lattimore makes 83 for next year.  Staff must know about a transfer or unknown junior going pro.
Welcome Shon!

THE Ohio State University

Eph97's picture

LMAO that Kentucky (in my best Allen Iverson "practice!" voice) had a chance of taking not just an Ohio recruit that Ohio State coveted, but a Glenville recruit. Ohio State busts other state's pipeline schools open (see: Cass Tech with Gholston and Webb), not the other way around. Especially to scrub programs. Yeah, Saban snuck in and grabbed 2 coveted recruits (Depriest and Kief), but that's Saban and he's only done it twice.

Wait, so we got the best player in the state of Michigan (Damon Webb) then two ballers from Glennville? This class is nasty, and might I say it... better than last years? Up for debate.
