Ohio State's Team Bus Reacts to Auburn's Last-Second Win Over Alabama

November 30, 2013 at 7:48p    by Jason Priestas

Courtesy of linebacker Joe Burger, comes this footage from inside the Ohio State team bus when Auburn ran back Alabama's short field goal to steal a 34-28 win on The Plains.

It's dark and jittery, but nothing short of amazing.

Damn, it feels good to be a Buckeye

gotta take care of msu first.  they are already talking about auburn jumping us so we need to stay focused and take care of sparty next week.  dont give them a reason to keep us out of the cg. hopefully this also lights a fire under the defense as well.

If we win next week we are not going to be kept out of the title game. Plain and simple.

I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.

We have filled the Braxton Miller position.

MSU's defense will cause us some problems...but the opportunity is there

Im more worried about OSU"s defense!

This is freakin awesome! If this doesn't motivate...I don't know what will!

I could not tell that was a bus.

Unless Coach Meyer makes an appearance into the defensive meetings, I have absolutely no confidence in Luke Fickell. I'm sorry, but he's not a good defensive coordinator. You make in game adjustments, not wait until halftime. It's not that freaking difficult. Get your head out your backside, and throw a wrinkle into the game plan. If we beat MSU, next week, great. However, if he thinks rushing only 3 or 4 will be effective against Winston and company, the BCS game will be even more lopsided than 41-14 in 2006.

Wow.. you just can't enjoy anything, can you?  Have you sought professional help?

Knarcisi's picture

He's allowed to be critical. He's glad we won, like all of us, but the defense was inexcusable today after what Michigan has shown the last 4 weeks.

dlb72osu's picture

Hey, Knarcisi, what in his rant gives the impression he is "glad we won"? Absolutely no indication of that emotion.

Knarcisi's picture

I see it as passion, and not complaining. And a passionate Buckeye is always glad we won. He's coming here to vent, and should be allowed to do so and have discussion on the topic rather than have 24-0 thrown back in his face. He's probably also sick of these assholes in the media chirping for a 1 loss team passing us. Sure 26-0, and we still run the chance of not winning a national title. The performance of our D this year has fed that narrative.

theDuke's picture

The defense was soft today. But don't discredit the day Gardner had. He was like 70% completion rate for nearly 500. They drew up an all or nothing plan and executed it flawlessly. Career day for Devin Gardner, and the best part is, they still lost!! Lulz

dlb72osu's picture

You see it as passion, but the only emotion on display is negative. That entire rant is a complaint. I would like to share your viewpoint, but I just cannot find any happiness in tone or content.

@Knarsis Well said. In regard to it being all negative, it was actually constructive. He began with a point, Urban BETTER get involved with the defense. He is correct. If you can't see that this effort won't work next week, then you are very shortsighted.

wojodta's picture

There's a difference between being critical and complaining endlessly. Of course the D looked bad, but at some point you gotta just enjoy the win. Let it go.

RufusVonDufus's picture

He is right in that Fickel sucks.    Our D plays uninspired and looks to be unmotivated under Fickel which gives reason to worry.   Maybe the fact that Fickel thinks none of them can play man pisses them off.    Maybe Fickel needs a change of venue.   Maybe some fans need to chill and let any and all post their feelings, and, yes, I am exceedingly ecstatic that we won--that the O was able to cover up once again Fickel's failings.

(copied from Bama thread) Joe Berger posted a reaction video on Twitter but it doesn't have playback it only downloads so I uploaded it to youtube. It's still dark but it covers the whole play.

Alpo's picture

Thought for a minute there that video was taken from my living room...without all the other people screaming of course

PittBuckeye's picture

High def video at it's finest.
Really cool reaction, minus if that shows up on espn they'll spend the next month talking about the team being homophobes.

buckeyedude's picture

I doubt they will show that on ESPN. There were more f-bombs and s-bombs on that bus than in a Bobby Knight halftime speech.
After it was edited, there would only be 5 seconds worth of video.

ScarletNGrey01's picture

Considering how excited they were, and the size and strength of the guys on that bus, surprised it stayed upright.

The only part of that which worries me:
They need to play actual defense in Indianapolis or they will not have a chance against MSU. Assuming they're already in the title game brings back nightmares of the Troy Smith era.

cinserious's picture

The Buckeye defense was #3 on my worry list. #1 was my mental state. #2 was my heart's state!
At no point was I worried Urban and this offense would lose the game until Hoke had to go for two (that sumbitch!).

I haven't had a good long deep laugh like that in a long while. That was wonderful.

chicago12's picture

We have been playing up and down with respect to our defense. One week very good and the next week no so good. Since we were not good against Michigan this week, if my theory holds good, I expect that we will play great defense in the championship game.

hit_the_couch's picture

Holy Shit! was pretty much my reaction too. I think my neighbors filed a noise complaint on me when I was watching the last minute of this game.
Epic vid.

And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches!

Buncha foul mouthed fellas, eh? I wish I could take the high road (and that my phone had sarcasm font) but unfortunately I had the same reaction...except I was watching the game in a church after my niece's baptism (I was the God father). Whoops.
