Cardale Jones' "We Ain't Come to Play School" Tweet Lives On

WE AIN'T COME HERE TO PLAY SCHOOL

Ole Miss apparently hands out a handbook of guidelines to the freshmen. One of the chapters includes how to conduct yourself on Social Media. Cardale Jones' infamous tweet is held up as the antithesis of good social media behavior.

And in case you thought Cardale had any chance of living that tweet down before this, here's Ramzy's timeline when Cardale checked in during the FAMU game:

Ah, sweet Cardale.

I love that it says " Use good grammar when posting online."

Is it weird that there is an Indiana logo on an Ole Miss textbook?

Once it's online, it's forever.

That reminded me of the old joke about what is the difference between herpes and love.  Herpes lasts forever.

At Ole Miss, the student athletes can go to class without really having to play school.

Or in this case, take Twitter and Facebook 101 as major college courses.

Hey, Hotty Toddy...how about you worry about what your own players are posting online following their visits to campus

Sort of related...Treadwell's former HS and college teammate, and former Michigan commit, Anthony Standifer was dismissed from the Rebel football team last week.  From what I remember, there were some character/grade concerns leading to the de-commitment.

Best practices, social media.

Citing Cardale.

I think we should ask Shelby what she thinks:

Italics are for emphasis.

Don't tweet like Cardale Jones. Do, however, feel free to heckle and verbally attack fellow Ole Miss students for their sexual orientation, while said students are onstage during a performance.

When I think "responsibility" and "not make disparaging remarks", Ole Miss is near the bottom of the list.

Does Cardale get some sort of royalty for his tweet ending up in a Ole Miss textbook? They pay pretty well, right?

I thought the remark was pretty stupid when he made it, and I hate that this is now something that "represents" Ohio State, but I'm sorry; please don't pretend like you never made a stupid and regrettable remark when you were a 19-year old college student. Spare me the faux-righteous BS.

We can't stop here; this is bat country...

I've always thought that Cardale was joking or being sarcastic. Who hasn't complained about a midterm before?

When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

I've said a lot of stupid things.. luckily, most of them are not enshrined in the immortality of the interwebz, and therefor have not been seen by hundreds of thousands of people..
hats off to any of our young people that make it through the social media age unscathed..

We should publish a textbook for our athletes telling them to not be homophobic assholes like the Ole Miss players.

Based on their record over the years, the Ole Miss players can honestly tweet "we ain't come here to play FOOTBALL"

There are probably more people on this message board that have actually seen the inside of this handbook than Ole Miss players.

Has to be embarrassing for Cardale.  He could probably shut everyone up by working hard and making All-Academic Big Ten...

The postgame show is brought to you by... Christ, I can't find it. The hell with it...

If he didn't come here to play school, then why in the hell would he take calculus over special Edward?

I thought he was trying to be funny. That is why I find it funny that they would use his sarcastic remarks to help "teach" their students. Me ain't no how to right but me isn colage.

It was a social media mistake.   Most people have made one or two of these in their lifetime.  Unfortunately for Cardale Jones, he plays for one of the most watched universities in the nation.  OSU is under a microscope in more ways than one.  So as far as his mistake, it was a big one and it put him in UFM's dog house for some time.  Luckily for Cardale, he can play football and realizes why he's at OSU now (for more reasons than one).

Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.
