TBDBITL Gets Revenge

A week after the cretinous Michigan band mocked Ohio State with a script "OHNO," TBDBITL got its revenge with a halftime game show, "Are you Smarter than a Wolverine?" during Saturday's San Diego State game. Vignettes included "The Price is Right," "Family Feud," "Wheel of Fortune," and "Jeopardy."

The band put the whole thing together in just four days, proving every shot at Ohio will be answered with extreme prejudice.

Love it, great idea!  On a separate note, Michigan's band still looks like a bunch of undisciplined children.

Excellent....no disputing who sits atop the band polls.

I am not very smart, but I recognize that I am not very smart.

FitzBuck's picture

Um hove you might want to rephrase.
UM's Band spends a lot of time sitting on polls.

Lol...you're right Fitz.

TBDBITL just won the Showcase Showdown then....both showcases for performance accuracy.

I am not very smart, but I recognize that I am not very smart.

Haha. Fitz's grammar/spell check isn't working.
j/k. That was punny.

I'm a hurtin' buckaroo.

Even USA Today called this "flawless revenge; winner, the TBDBITL".

That's great work. TBDBITL is always at the top of their game!

Have your wolverines spayed or neutered. Priceless.

Remember to get your wolverine spayed or neutered. TBDBITL

When the band was practicing on Friday, the line went "have your wolverine FANS spayed or neutered." guess they cleaned it up a little in the proceeding 12 hours. Shame

Call me - glad to do the job.

You can't call that a "script" Oh-No. More of like a "Kindergartner's block letters OHNO"

For some reason the link isn't working for me.... The picture doesn't show up either.

I wonder how many people were at both shows.
I was.
I was at the Michigan opener versus Central Michigan, as well as your game versus SDSU.  I even went to the Skull Session.
The Michigan Marching Band halftime show on Aug. 31 was a bigger production; and in all honesty, it was a much more mild form of humor, where "Brutus" was cast as a Bond-villain.
And as I pointed out previously, the "OHNO" formation was not much of a parody on the script Ohio.  I mean, it was a tongue-in-cheek reference, but the notion that the show was built on some parody of a wonderful OSU tradition is a real stretch.  If you don't believe me, you can watch the video.  I posted a link in one of the earlier threads to prove this very point.
The OSU Marching Band show was a lot bitchier.  It was sketch comedy, tucked into a marching band performance.  Fortunately for TBDBITL, the audio portion came off better in Ohio Stadium than it did in St. John Arena.  And I give OSU high marks for a brilliant cameo by Alex Trebeck.
I'd grade the Michigan band show as an A- and the OSU show as a B+.
Now; who else can claim that they were there in person for both band shows?

tbdbitlbuck's picture

There's this novel new contraption called the Youtubes where you actually don't have to be in person to see a band's show anymore...
Believe it or not, this show is not actually a "response" to Michigan's show. These shows are planned well in advance (we're talking March or April). All of the music and drill is written in early summer.
Michigan's band could have done a show about cheeseburgers last week and this week's show would have been the same.

Thanks to you and MMan for bringing the facts to the table.  A shot at Michigan is welcome no matter what the circumstances, and doesn't require any perceived insults from their band as additional motivation.

Just say no to italics abuse.

That is exactly my understanding as well.  Thanks for pointing that out.  I didn't want to doubt the 11W staff on that issue; I am glad that you mentioned it.
Michigan does 1 or 2 OSU/Brutus -reference shows a year.  I imagine OSU does the same.  What's funny to me is how (A) local media, which now craves college football trashtalk more than ever, and (B) social media together put these things on a significantly higher level of notoriety than ever before.
On a much more important note, I understand that Florida A&M is not bringing their band to Ohio Stadium.  I'd call that decision a "tragedy," but in the case of the Rattlers, we need to reserve a term like "tragedy" for their deceased bandmate.  Anyway, their absence should be a huge disappointment for anybody going to OSU v. FAMU.

You are exactly right.  I'll be at the Florida A&M game and I am quite disappointed that their band won't be in attendance but I completely understand why.

We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...

My only question is why would you admit to being at the first one to begin with?  Have you no shame M Man?

Have you no shame M Man?

A.  After watching Michigan-Alabama in Eddie George's Bar & Grill, no; I have no more shame.  None whatsoever.

Well played MMan....well played.

That's the 1st time in my life I have felt sympathy for a UM alum. That must have been a rough night.

"Bitchy" is not a word that I would use, feeling a little sensitive M Man?  I will gladly engage in conversation with reasonable people regardless of their school loyalties, but when that sort of language comes out then tempers will quickly flare, so please avoid phrasing things like that unless you're looking for a silly internet fight.  Was it sort of obnoxious? Definitely, but it was a shortened half-time show that was meant to be guady and obnoxious; just like a game show.  I thought the constant knocks on the intelligence of the wolverine "fans" was stupid and certainly over the top, not based on any reality; but it was just done for kicks.  The actual music side of things was fantastic as usual, playing while marching has always been TBDBITL's strong-suit.  That fact alone makes their show the finest each week.

I'm requesting that each home halftime show is posted.
living 2000 miles away with 3 small kids, it'll be years before I can make it back and these videos take me back to when I was an undergrad.

Thx in advance

Just look under youtube user name "mbandfan2" and you can see pretty much everything TBDBITL does during the course of every home saturday.

Well i grade TBDBITL A+, scum band a c-.

I love the back and forth between the two. Don't see any other programs bring hate (or whatever you want to call it) on so many levels. Louisville and UK are only really enemies in basketball and Auburn/Bama in football. OSU/UM brings it in football, basketball, bands, soccer, women badminton...
Damn its good to be a hater!

I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!

"Go Blue?"  "That's not even the right number of letters."  Loved it.  TBDBITL brings it every week.

I was there Saturday. It was very entertaining as it is always. Every year I have seen the band do at least one gig that they bash on SCum. It's always fun to watch.
TBDBITL:A+
SCums blowhards:c+ , but a d to the skin flute section. They really sucked! go blow.

I get the Alex Trebek reference now. Surprised I forgot about this

Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you will actually see.

This is my second favorite show after the video game themed one.

I believe the video game theme was the best performance ever in the US. It will only be surpassed when TBDBITL decides to outdo themselves.
