Oregon almost passed us up in this one too....

And when we win the game, we'll buy a keg of boooooooooze!! And we'll drink to old Ohio 'till we wobble in our shoes.

3 first place votes, eh?  I'll allow it!

This poll matters; the other one doesn't. If undefeated, OSU will go to the BCSCG.

Not necessarily.  The Oregon vs. Stanford winner, if undefeated, will certainly have a case to jump Ohio State.

You would think Georgia lost by 20 with how they dropped.

That'll teach ya to schedule good games against good teams.

7 spots seems a little above average for a drop to me but doesn't seem to be overdone. Anything over that I would agree with you on.

I think the voters also took into consideration that Georgia also lost their number one wide receiver for the year.

I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.

I don't think it is unfair at all. 1-0 > 0-1. It is only week one. They have all season to climb up the rankings.

Its amazing to see 5 B1G teams in the top 25, yet the conference is soooo horrible!

I saw a UFO told me to have a goodyear!

The way Nebraska's D is playing, that won't last long.

Well their offense didn't really help with the turnovers in the 4th quarter.

I think Georgia torches SC this week and moves right back up to top 10.

Don't give up... Don't ever give up.

I think it's going to be a close game. Georgia doesn't look as impressive as in years passed

OurHonorDefend09's picture

Connor Shaw might be out for the season within the first half of that game for how wreckless he plays. SC's D wasn't that impressive; however, their RB look to be solid. Just not sold on SC being all that great, even though Georgia may appear lackluster as well.

Don't give up... Don't ever give up.

Georgia put what, 7 defensive starters from last years team on NFL rosters in aprils draft? Last year was UGAs best shot at a title. And they pissed it away in the SEC title game. Their running backs are studs, and murray is solid. Definitely not close to what they were last year.

That same defense got torched by Tennessee and Nebraska. I thought their D was overrated last year, and I don't think it'll be that great this season either.

I wonder how Cock fans feel about Clemson jumping

Class of 2010.

What bothers me the most is how all the talking heads are saying certain teams are allowed to lose but still have a shot at a NC birth but how the teams they are playing against aren't allowed to lose. WTF! It's annoying as hell.

Let's just go out and put a whooping on SDSU. Just one game at a time.

I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.

Good to see we stayed 2 on the poll that matters but we better kick it up a few notches.

Thank goodness these coaches live a day in the life and this poll isn't as frivolous with style points as the AP.

Can pretty much guarantee that it was Graduate Assistants who filled out these "coaches" ballots.

Reading the Offensive Breakdown from Ross makes me feel much better about our team now. We beat the Bulls by 20 and we still completely limited ourselves. If we correct the minor problems, and open up the playbook a little bit like we did in the first quarter, then I could see us destroying SDSU and solidifying a number 2 spot in both polls.

Knarcisi's picture

I'll say what millions have already said.  Why do we even need this poll before October?  I know the networks want to advertise ranked teams and matchups, but they use the AP rankings!  Even ESPN!

One game at a time for the chase is what our Buckeyes need to do. We have the sos to win out. I just hope we don't take anyone lightly. I would love to crush SCum, whiskey , and NW like they are Mac schools. I'm talking 60 to 20. A real thumping.

That's a loaded top 25. The B1G clustering at 17-21 is interesting.
