If you don't watch BTN's series "The Journey" then a) you should, because it's excellent, and b) you don't already know about Jack Hoffman:

He’s the young Nebraska fan who’s battling brain cancer and has formed a special bond with Nebraska legend Rex Burkhead. We featured Hoffman and his friendship with Burkhead on last year’s “The Journey,” a segment that you can find in this post.

Hoffman, 7, attended Saturday’s Red-White Spring Game, and he turned out to be the day’s biggest star. Midway through the fourth quarter, Hoffman lined up in the backfield for a play and took it all the way to the house.

You can see that segment about Hoffman's relationship with Nebraska football at the link below.

Looks like Nebraska's defense hasn't improved much since last year...

Very, very cool. I like that they rushed the field to celebrate. Great experience for the little man AND all of the Nebraska players.

If you can watch that and not get choked up, your a tougher SOB than I am. Great stuff. Won't ever be a Cornshucker fan, but that display says alot about the players and the coaches on that team. My prayers for you young Jack.

How awesome would it be if the kid beats cancer, has an unbelievable high school career and signs with Nebraska. That would be the greatest story in the history of sports.

Sure pray this kid gets to grow old and watch this looking back. We are all so blessed with our lives and if this doesnt put that in perspective, I dont know what will. This is seriously awesome.

Great story, my best to the little guy. First time I've ever thought Pelini was anything other than a Saban, to be honest. Great, great moment.

There is such a sweetness to this act by the team. Here's to the kid being able to tell his grandchildren about it.

something primitive in the back of my mind felt the need to scream, "oh Jesus! don't tackle the little guy!"

Hey look, Wisconsin and Ohio State offense did that all up and down the field on Nebraska. Great video though, I like the cause.

Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you will actually see.

Awesome stuff right there.

I'm glad Perkin's wasn't playing LB for the white team! But all jokes aside that was a classy move by the Huskers.
