Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary's Parris Campbell Makes 5 for 2014; 3rd Commitment Today
Urban Meyer took some much-needed time off following National Signing Day. Just kidding.
2014 Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary ATH Parris Campbell has just issued his verbal commitment to Ohio State per BuckeyeGrove's Marc Givler.
Campbell put on quite a show at the Ohio Division III state title game, which was attended by several Ohio State coaches. He had 165 yards on 14 carries for three scores in the biggest game of the year, playing at WR, RB or anywhere he was needed, really.

Campbell has early offers from Michigan State, Tennessee (we see your Ohio connections, Butch Jones) and Indiana and was getting interest from Penn State. More soon when 11W catches up with the latest Buckeye – which based on how the morning has been going – might be a shortly-lived title.

The staff must really see something special in this kid... I thought they'd be holding off on RB commits until they knew the intentions of Hurd, Autry, and Haden. Guessing he's a very versatile athlete. Either way, congrats to Parris and welcome to Buckeye Nation!

ive seen him play twice live last yr (vs massilon and st title game) vs very stiff competition and came away very impressed both games. in the massilon game he was often matched up with buckeye commit gareon conley and he held his own and had some impressive big plays/tds vs him and it is well documented what he did in the state title game.

This is nice to see, but at the same time I can't help but remember the team up north last year. I really hope all these early verbals don't lead to de-commits.

I think the main reason ttun lost recruits this past year was because those recruits received offers they previously did not have. I believe both of the out of state commits we have do have offers from other top programs, so I do not foresee the same type of problem. Now, will every one of our commits this year stay committed to us all year? Probably not. But I definitely know Urban and the rest of our staff will find a suitable replacement if they need to.
I guess that's right. Our rivals had a disapointing season & they're just not it right now. With the combination of our schedule & a better understanding of player roles & offensive scheme, we may not have the same worries. We're it right now. But we don't truely know what factors may cause these guys to reconsider.

after watching his interview he was a buckeye lock as soon as he got his offer. Urb locking up all the elite ohio recruits, all we need now is booker (imo will be soon, maybe later today) and berger and watch scum's class crumble with out top tier ohio guys.

Nice highlight film just from the state championship game. Urban said he liked to evaluate guys in games like that so that is probably what got him his offer.
I was hoping Urban would get this kid after watching the DIII state championship game. He's fast and was obviously faster than anyone else on the field that day. Great get...

Some good news after the bb team got cooked by Indiana today. Maybe Meyer can help Matta bring in some blue chip bb recruits.......just say'n.
Parris Campbell is an intriguing prospect. He actually skipped a grade in kindergarten. In a day and age where high school prep stars are sometimes held back a grade to help their athletic prowess develop (e.g. Jimmy Clausen), or where you can get guys like Devin Hester who, like Clausen, was nearly twenty years old when he enrolled at Miami, Parris Campbell stands out.
Really, he's a rising junior in a sophomore's body. Very interesting to see what he plays like in a few years since he's on a somewhat accelerated path.
I can't believe I ate the whole thing.
