It wasn't pretty at times but Urban Meyer's Buckeyes rode a spirited 2nd half from the Silver Bullets to cap a perfect 12-0 season with a 26-21 victory over Michigan.
The Buckeye defense held Michigan to a TO on downs, fumble, 3 and out, 3 and out, fumble and interception in the final 30 minutes while Carlos Hyde racked up 146 yards and a touchdown and Braxton went 14/18 for 189 yards and a touchdown through the air.

Undefeated: The 2012 Ohio State Buckeyes
It was more nervous-y than it should have been, due to some uncharacteristic (for 2012) offensive follies on the UM side of the field. but the Bucks left little doubt they were the better team.
And for all the (sometimes deserved) criticism the defensive coaching staff received this season, holding this Michigan offense scoreless in the second half is a major accomplishment. We had literally no margin for error.
Sorry I couldn't be there for what would have been my first snowy day at the Shoe, but 12-0 is one hell of a consolation prize. It will be hard to top it next season, but I'd be ready to go tomorrow.

They have been calling for it all year. And to be fair, he has no idea how to use Denard effectively. Some of those 3rd or 4th and short calls were gifts to us by trying to pound it up the middle where our line and lbers are at their best.
I don't know what he was doing. The effectiveness of the Gardner-Denard combo only really worked when they were both on the field at the same time. The whole alternating thing was a bad choice.

This is the 2nd greatest season in OSU football in my entire lifetime. Even when the Buckeye O looked high school-level in the 4th quarter, I wasn't really that nervous even though I usually am. This is my second favorite OSU team during my lifetime after 2002 with 1997, 2006, and 2010 rounding out the top 5.
Also, it was immensely satisfying when Carlos Hyde picked up that big first down, stood up and mocked Denard's spoon gesture. I grinned ear to ear when I saw that.
I know that it's time to just revel in beating scUM, but for next year we have: the Heisman winner, the Butkus winner (Shazier), Bedenarik winner (if Roby stays) and maybe the best RB in the country in Hyde. I think the average margin of victory will be somewhere around 50!

I thought Michelin played a damn good game defensively(tip of the hat to Mattison), and the way the 1st half ended, had a REAL uneasy feeling going into the half, knowing that our defense had to finish without Big John.

I said at the very beginning of the year that this will be the best shot Michigan has at beating Urban's Buckeyes, but I just couldn't see it happening. Hail said it's not exactly like Michigan doesn't want it just as much, but my thought was with it being Urban's first GAME, the defacto bowl game, and the last day for this awesome senior class, there's no way the Buckeyes were going to lose this game. I was more worried about at least 3 other games on the schedule than AACC. You did just lose to possibly the worst team Urban will have at Ohio State. The worst team that is FUCKING 12-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God it's good to be a Buckeye.

Didn't particularly ike the jersey's or pants. But the chrome look helmets with the holographic buckeye stickers rocked. Very distinctive.
Last year's pro combat was awesome. I loved it. Of the 4 alternate unis they've had this was the least drastic from norm, the were different but not dramatically.

Contrats Buckeyes and graduating seniors. It was a most gratifying season although I found myself yelling at the TV in frustration. The defense finally came around but the offense seemed to sputter as Braxton struggled. On that topic, maybe after his concussion, adopted a more tentative style with excessive juking/jitterbugging and running more akin to a back the size of Taivon Jacobs rather than someone almost the same size as Carlos Hyde. He seems to be taking too long to make reads insteading of exploding through the openings.Just my thoughts.
As much as I like Urban, his coaching left a lot to be desired in the Wisconsin game. W had a game plan to shut down Miller, thereby 70% of the offense, by assignment defensive personnel on him throughout the game. OSU should have made them p

It looked to me like our guy didn't actually touch it on the muffed punt, play should have been dead when the m*ch*g*n guy touched it on the bounce and our ball.
Props to them for capitalizing on our turnovers when we couldn't on theirs, and yet we still win.

Never know what our offense would have done if some of those snaps hadn't been so high. Linsley needs to get his shit together. Seems like ever since that high snap against Penn State, he hasn't been able to stop doing it.

WOW, where do I begin. Amazing season that will be remembered for a long, long time. There were times this season I thought this is no different than last year or even years past. I know UFM doesn't have "his" players in place yet but when he does this is going to be a powerhouse for a longtime. Thinking back to the Nebraska game and how that "O" just lit up the scoreboard we as Buckeye fans are in for some times. I think Fickle keeps his job (if he wants it). He may want to pursue a HC job at some institution. This was an amazing team that if given the chance would be able to compete with anybody in the country right now. Not that I want to wish my life away but August can't get here quick enough. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!

Just got back to my house after the game. Rushed the field, shredded my rotator cup giving high fives. Loved seeing Hyde's eating and Urban going nuts when we got the last 1st down. I'll never forget seeing the players put Tressel up on their shoulders. Fantastic game!

On the special jerseys for today's game, these SCREAMED tOSU, we really need to keep these around. I also think that we should allow tOSU and scul to wear their hom and home jerseys for this rilvarly like usc and UCLA does, it adds something special to see both teams in colors and not whites. That would make this rilvarly so much more special.

I've been had the good fortune to be a Buckeye fan since 1968, my freshmen year. I can honestly say I am as proud of this team as any I've seen in the last 44 years. This team may not have the most talent of any group in that time, but I think they have the most heart. And the unbelieveable part is the best is yet to come for the guys that remain, and the great freshmen on the way. They will be champions again. I could not be prouder to be a Buckeye. Thanks, Coach Meyer.

If ever there were a game where I would suggest that something was funny with the refs - it was this one. We deserved many of the calls that went against us but there were some questionable stuff. That no call on the facemask was outright criminal.

McDonough doesn't ever do the Buckeyes any favors in his calling of their games.
Wasn't he lobbying for an offensive facemask on El Guapo on that killer stiff arm, or was that Spielman? Either way, how the hell else are you supposed to stiff arm someone?
Regardless of any bias McDonough might have, he and Spiel are miles better than last week's "MONTEE BALL MONTEE BALL MONTEE BALL, WISCONSIN WISCONSIN WISCONSIN" crew. McDonough has a great voice for commentating and can really make games exciting.
I thought last week's broadcast was somehow accidentally putting out a Wisconsin local channel. It was brutally biased -- and I rarely comment on bias.

An 8-4 record. The best win is......Northwestern? Looking back, this season was a huge disappointment. Last year, Hoke said the season was a failure because they didn't win the Big Ten championship, and everyone kind of patted him on the back and said, "no, you did great." This year, not so many people will be arguing with him.
This playcalling in the second half of this game was absolutely atrocious. Borges is pretty bad, but Hoke should step in and give him a reality check from time to time. Borges was fine in the first half. Wake him the **** back up.
Maybe Hoke should wear the headset more than the final 2 minutes of the game...Could it be that it's not really a headset for the game but in reality a tacky bluetooth he uses to order his postgame pizzas?

Hoke might step in if he would wear a headset and routinely have direct input. Without one he keeps himself out of the firing line just for cases like this. His hands are clean. He's just a cheerleader.

This is my absolute favorite Buckeye team EVER. It's not the most talented, and there will be no title, but the love I have for this group is immense. This senior class, this coach, and the grit this team has shown was amazing. They played and won for eachother, the fans, and most importantly the name on the front of the jersey. Urban is going to win a lot of games here, but I don't think any will be more satisfying than his first 12. I'm so excited about this team and bummed I won't see anymore games from them this year.
I would of been really upset if they lost, may have even cried, but they won so I cried anyway. What a run, I didn't believe 12-0 was possible, but boy am I glad the team didn't feel the same way. What a start to the Meyer Era. In 10 years we'll be honoring this team at halftime. I only hope Urban has another 11-0 team on that day he is leading to battle!
I can't wait to purchase some new shirts to celebrate this accomplishment!

Been waiting for this game since that day in ann arbor last year. My classes in Detroit have been following their run this year as I have been raving about them -- now we have proven ourselves.
