A story about Nittany Lions. The reason they got their name was because near University Park there is a hill called Mt.Nittany where lions were believe to roam. Not sure how true this is but a few PSU fans shared this with me.

Cougars roamed throughout the United States not all that long ago. I mean Hell there were Bison in Virginia and North Carolina in the 1700's. Cougar range:

Also most biologists are willing to admit that cougars are making a come back in the Eastern US/Canada after being extirpated in the early 1900s. Several wild cougars have been confirmed to be living in New Brunswick, Canada as well as Wisconsin/Michigan (most likely came from the Dakotas/Ontario), as well as a possible resurgence in the Appalachians (Especially in New York, Maine, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Vermont and New Hampshire.)

Oh dear Lord, I forgot about that kitty-kat noise. Now I really want our D to stuff them just so they don't get many first downs and I don't have to hear that over and over again. Any chance they got rid of that along with the "Sweet Caroline" tradition?
I do believe they 'turned their back' on Sweet Caroline. I think after a while, it was just easier to close their eyes and ears and pretend nothing happened.

Avail & Brewster - They have stopped the "Sweet Caroline" singing, because of the lines in it like "Touching me, touching you" was making a few people uneasy. Not making this up -read about it a few weeks ago.

beautiful. programs like those were/are the inspiration for making these posters. so much cooler and creative than just slapping a photo of the star player on the cover and calling it a day. thanks for sharing this archive, my day is now shot.
