Up until 2008, Ford actually owned a controlling share of Mazda. They still own 3%, and are very close strategic partners.

It doesn't matter. Mazda is foreign-operated...always has been. The 3% Ford ownership in no way compares to, say, Chrysler's 58% ownership by Fiat. The profits go elsewhere.
But fine, you guys win. I will no longer bash people from the University of Michigan for letting their state's #1 industry fall into an abyss. It is obviously not their fault...after all, they're no Harvard, amirite? I just hope one day, their modest efforts to keep their state afloat will finally be noticed...like the genius that came up with the great Michigan tourism ads. I've got my 3-week vacation set, I tell you what.
Though as a Buckeye, any opportunity to slight those haughty @ssholes up north, no matter the degree of irrationality that may underlie my comments, will be taken with vigor. It doesn't matter how wrong it is, it's anti-Michigan propaganda that I can't believe you guys had to nitpick to death.
