Spring Game Rosters Set
The rosters for the 2012 LiFE Sports Spring Game have been set.
Braxton Miller was drafted by coach Tom Herman's Scarlet squad and features the potential starting offensive line in Jack Mewhort, Corey Linsley, Marcus Hall and Reid Fragel. On defense, the Scarlet team will feature several defensive starters from 2011 with the likes of Travis Howard, Jon Hankins, and Ryan Shazier.
Coach Luke Fickell's Gray team will feature defensive playmakers John Simon, Etienne Sabino, Bradley Roby and Garrett Goebel. Past spring game standout Kenny Guiton will start at QB and will have Jordan Hall, Jake Stoneburner, and Devin Smith at his disposal.
The spring game will begin at approximately 1:30PM on Saturday following the Men's Lacrosse game vs. Air Force.

So is it 1's vs 1's and 2's vs 2's?

Obligatory

Damn. Was really hoping to see Braxton and Stoney on the same squad since Meyer says he plans to work more on the passing game with Miller reps.
I got Michael Thomas for a big game. Was hoping Brax would have Devin Smith on his team.
Brax not having them on his side will force him to hone is skills that much more with others, i like the teams
I agree dubjay, I'm looking forward to seeing how well Braxton hones in on other guys on that squad. I would have also liked to see the chemistry he's got going with Devon S. but think this is better from a practice stand point which this game is really anyway. Can't wait to see it in person.

I agree Dub, as I think it's more important at this point to see Miller throw and practice his reads. No point in him taking 20 carries on Saturday and getting injured.
Having Stoney, Hall, and Smith with Guiton will allow us to see a little more of what the ground game will be like, since Kenny G will play Miller's understudy as runner and reader.
This setup gives us the best chances to see what our pass and run games will look like come Fall, respectively.

Are TY and Spencer playing? I know both were/are dinged up as of last week
Spencer is out a few weeks. I think TY will play?
I think it's good that Miller is without Stoney and Smith. It's nice to have a go to guy but it's better to have 4-5 guys that the QB has a connection with. 3rd and long and you could throw to anybody on the field, not one go to guy .
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
According to the only guy I know in athletics, the community service the losers have to do was defined as "cleaning up campus". He's on scarlet.
Like that Gray defense. Scarlet offense pretty strong, too. Good matchup.
Both coaches decided to go strong in their own area of expertise. I kind of wish that Urban had said, 'Awesome you guys are now going to coach the other team!'
Seeing these O-lines all of the sudden makes me feel less worried about the line. It's not as deep as we would like, but if the second team is Bobek, Boren, Norwell, and Decker, that isn't so bad. Especially if Dodson comes in the fall ready to go like Decker has and throw in O'Connor and Underwood. We're still a bit thin at tackle, but not as bad as it once seemed.
Norwell is currently and will still be a starter in the fall.
I thought Jacoby Boren was out the rest of the spring.

He had surgery for a torn labrum, so he won't play. I noticed several other players who won't play (Evan Spencer, Storm Klein (I'm guessing), Se'Von Pittman, etc.) were also listed.
I guess I kind of meant that the way the teams were divided had most of the first team oline on the scarlet team. But essentially I still feel the same way.
Important question, 11W...
Do you put your Block "O" flag out for the Spring Game?
If not, why own one?

I'm taking Team Gray; bit of an upset pick in my mind.

No its not! Crap, you were the very last post in the thread and I was thinking I would be the first to make my prediction. I was going all in for the gray team. I love defense. Kudos to you though on your pick, I think your right.
My money is on John Simon for the win. The rest will sort itself out.
Started packing last night for some "Urban" camping.......
Spring Game FTW!

I've said this a couple places, but Scarlet looks thin at LB. It will also be interesting to see Braxton throw to guys like Thomas, Fields, and Williams rather than some of his favorite targets like Devin Smith. Scarlet also has Heuerman and Vannett.
This is going to be fun.
