ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reports that sources have confirmed that WR Duron Carter and DL Rob Robe will be academically ineligible to play in the Rose Bowl on January 1 in Pasadena.
Rose does not surprise me at all, as his play effort clearly went downhill as the year went on and he has had his history of troubles in the classroom. Carter, on the other hand, seems to have been playing too much X-box Live this quarter and it is quite shocking to see Cris's son get such poor marks in his first quarter at Ohio State. Luckily the school employs a freshman forgiveness program and Carter should be able to get back on track and start hitting the books as he'll have plenty of time to get his priorities straight while he's watching his teammates take on the Ducks.

Ray Small's time to shine? Maybe Stoneburner gets more action...
haha stoneburner...we don't throw to the TE...in all seriousness though Carter was barely used the last half of the year and Rose was a HUGE disappointment in Columbus....
Oops. http://twitpic.com/soph5
That's hilarious. Someone spent a little too much time sorting out party favors.
everything in the bottom right corner of the flyer is super sweet awesome hilarious.
he's also having a rose bowl viewing party at that bar now too. $1 beers, $3 jaegerbombs. holla atcha boyeeee
Great, I bought a #9 Jersey on clearance at the beginning of the year because of both these guys, now what am I going to wear on the 1st, #33? GO GANTZ!
Ill be there. Come check out my new haircut
Fail.
Where did you happen to finda XXXL jersey on clearance?!?!
Plenty of players at each position. Sucks, but oh well.
Seriously? And Rose is a Q-Dog while failing classes? JESUS H. CHRIST. Maybe Tress should send these kids to me for a reality check on what happens when you f up in college. 31 years old and still working on my degree...while working full time and raising a fam. (on the plus side I just got an A in my Religion and English Lit Classes...)
Skanks...
sure as shit wasn't buckeye corner.
Not now chief, I'm in the effin' zone...
Self High-Five!
Ski, this will make you happy: I somehow won a TP authentic, and an Eli authentic jersey from Eastbay (along with some new Lebron's and that crazy looking Buckeye knit cap that is red with earflaps and has Buckeye leaves on one side).
Any chance we can add Buckeye D to the G-men O for the rest of the year, starting with the Rose Bowl?
I hearted freshman forgiveness.
Totally unsurprising as far as Rose is concerned. That guy's had "BUST" written all over him in big Day-Glo letters since he got here. So, in one way of looking at it, this is like the perfect grace note to his Buckeye "career".
Duron's situation is more perplexing, but not very much more, freshmen being freshmen - I'm betting this is the last "problem" with him that we hear about.
psych 101? you too?
It was an admittedly snug XXL from campus' very own Barnes & Noble!
Am I a geek b/c I bragged to my dad that I was just about the only guy on my floor (Park 6, 1993) who didn't need Frosh Forgive?
Oh man, that would be great dude.
The G-Men are making me pull my hair out and obtain Rx for Rogaine....
Simply put....yes
Math 151 bitchezzzzzzzzzzzz
(I fully acknowledge my slackjawed yokel-ness)
Well done, Chief. I went the same route (working and family) with Masters. Evenings kinda sucked. Congrats on acing Rel/Eng Lit; were you able to turn in the same essays for both? Could have saved you a lot of trouble...
I can't imagine that Papa Carter is too happy with young Duron at the moment.
i 2nd that
It's weird that i didn't have any problem with that math series yet needed forgiveness for psych 101.
Yes, it is. I actually aced 151 when I retook it. It was the strangest thing.
rose isn't a surprise in the least, what a maroon. Carter is more of a shock, but hopefully his dad kicking him in the rear coupled with sitting out of the freaking rose bowl will turn him around.
neither of these dudes being out really hurts us, and actually might force Tressel to open up the playbook a bit on passing downs (hahaha jk, every down is a rushing down).
also I never needed freshman forgiveness, but that's because unlike you peons I am literally the smartest dude in the world.
"also I never needed freshman forgiveness, but that’s because unlike you peons I am literally the smartest dude in the world."
Or took the easiest classes :-P
Calc was the only class I got a D in. Took it again and Aced with flying colors. Must have missed the day they told u how to do it the first time around.
Wow. +1
"C'mon, man!!!"
No, I had to do all papers seperate. Congrats on your Masters!
My problem was I didn't go to class...female dorm rooms and Larkins Hall were far more interesting. I did go to Algebra to hit on my TA...I guess I was destined to be in the Navy. (I had an academic scholly early in my high school days, but then I discovered alcohol is my pal).
Would have loved it if I could have used that on Math H190 - but my C- just missed the cut :(
So I am cautiously optimisitic about the Rose Bowl, however, in the back of mind all I can think is "What the F happened to our team?"...pre-FLA, we intimidated the shit out of everyone. Now? We choke in every OOC game, and you got f*ckers from Hellen Keller State U talking shit to us.
WE NEED THIS BAD. THEN WE NEED TO CLOWN STOMP "THE U".
Ha! That cracks me up. Joe Gantz is actually a distant cousin of mine which makes it even funnier. Finally, someone with the last name Gantz that I can openly root for...or is scout team relegation unworthy of rooting...I don't know.
i didn't take easy classes buuutttt since I majored in history i got to avoid pesky things like "math" and "science" for the most part
also I am a tremendous dork and only missed one class in college
are you a teacher now?
kind of, I got my MEd in 08 but didn't find a job right off so now I'm teaching English in japan. also I totally lied about being smart, if it doesn't pertain to social studies i literally know less than most 9th graders
sounds like a few history majors i know/knew. minus the japan thing.
that "literally" wasn't facetious
well, I think a lot of history people get into teaching as a fallback plan, i kind of take pride in that teaching history and getting my masters in education was my goal from the start
well what else can you do with a history degree?
serious question, not my usual snarkiness at all.
outside of academia and libraries and archives and so on, lots of government agencies like to hire history majors, especially places like the FBI and HUD. there was also a trend to hire history majors in big business because of percieved analytical skeels but that's probably gone now
WHY do athletes tweet dumb stuff like this? Don't they know it's there for the whole world to see and could come back and bite them in the, well, you know.

Can't open it...is it SFW? What does it say?
It's only NSFW if your company disdains poor grammar and nonsense. Otherwise SFW.
I'm a Psych 101 victim as well...douchiness!
Oops...maybe I should put my info in next time. Duh...
psych 101 was murderous. same with CSE 200.
CSE 200 was the biggest waste of time. i had an awful wench of a woman who would deduct points from your grade for superfluous parenthesis. the parenthesis did not negatively affect anything, it was just an extra key stroke you did not need to make and so was "wrong"
she also used the word "industry" a lot. i hated her. i still hate her. i would say mean things to her if i ever saw her again.
I believe virtually all Ohio State math courses are completely contingent on the prof/TA. I got a C- in 151, but an A in 152 despite putting no difference in effort/astuteness.
I thought Psych 101 was a joke, so it's probably pretty variable as well. I had the class with Anthony Gonzalez and we even did a project together lol
Wine 'em, dine 'em, Stradley 9 'em.
ahhh straddle-me hall. memories.
Smith 6th...lounge pizza parties with Adriaticos...yessum!
Some lawyers are usually history majors as well.
my old roommate was a history major. he's a corrections officer now.
Sometimes life throws you curveballs.haha.
we go to the gun range every time i go back home for a weekend. cool guy.
I always liked history, except for Prefoessor Horger's history 151 class. that dude was a douche.
