In a rare twist (lately at least), an offensive player of the week as well as offensive lineman of the week was awarded. From the University release:
Thaddeus Gibson, with a career-best three sacks, is the defensive player of the week. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who rushed for 104 yards and passed for 239, is the offensive player of the week. Etienne Sabino, with two key tackles, is the player of the week on the special units.
Jim Cordle was named as the Jim Parker lineman of the week. Doug Worthington received the Attack Force award on defense. The Jack Tatum big hit of the week has not been decided.
Players of the week on the scout teams: Ricky Crawford (offense); Nate Ebner (defense); K.C. Christian (special units).

Jim Cordle was named as the Jim Parker lineman of the week.
I must be dropping acid again.
Bollman dosed your drink when you weren't looking. He's pulling out all the stops
Maybe Jim Parker moonlighted as a matador on the side
Again, no Jack Tatum award. Sigh.
Curious: can Beanie get an honorary rookie houndie for making the Cardinals look like the Steelers of old yesterday?
Why would it need to be honorary? By my count only Brian Hartline challenged Beanie for this week's honor, unless some Buckeye goes off tonight in MNF. If Cardinals weren't so insistent on Warner throwing incomplete passes, Beanie would have topped 100 last night with about 7 or 8 more carries.
I'll admit, I didn't look up anyone else's stats. I just wasn't sure if 14 carries, 68 yards plus a TD would be enough.
I glanced over Dispatch's report this morning, only player that really jumped out was B-hart with 3 catches for 94 yards, and I believe a TD. Watching Beanie last night, he played better than those stats reflected, he just didn't get the touches. I think a Warner led team with Larry Fitz and Boldin is going to be a 4 wide shotgun team most of the time, and with Beanie bad in pass-pro blitz pick up, he is always off the field on passing downs, with Hightower in the backfield instead. Watching Beanie stiff arm NFL defenders last night made me long for the days when he wore scarlet and gray. If I remember right, his career YPC was 5.8 at OSU. That is sick.
Maybe he'll have to give the award back in 2 weeks.
Why did Terrelle Pryor change helmets, from the "pro style" Troy Smith sported the first 4 weeks to the Tim Tebow "concussion prevention" helmet in the last two weeks?
BTW, Beanie got screwed out of two more TDs last night when the Cardinals replaced him in goal line situation! Thank Tressel Beanie's fumble went out of bounds instead of being recovered!
Poll for all Big Ten fans:

Nothing sinister -- just want to see which fans among us bitch the most about officiating. MSU is winning at the moment as Wolverine fans turn it into a "which co-worker is most annoying?) thing, so I'm opening it up to all conference fans.
Have at it -- which fanbase has the hardest time with the stripes?
Tatum Award could have gone to the MSU safety for that "personal foul" that saved Iowa's game on a third and long with minutes left.
But speaking of awards, you guys catch onto this "All-time Travelling Trophy" thing going around the blogs? Pretty cool actually.
That hit you are referencing made my bone marrow hurt. Dude put the wood down.
Beanie looks exactly like he did at OSU
1. bruising and fast
2. devastating stiff arm (and it was classic listening to the announcers discuss his new "trademark")
3. fumbles a lot, though
4. only plays 75% of the year due to being injury prone
He looked good, but something tells me he will not make it through a full NFL season ... the way he runs, combined with NFL defenders, makes for serious injury problems. I hope that I am wrong and he has a great NFL career because he certainly has the talent to be a great back, but we'll have to see long-term.
The Pryor award is a little surprising but I guess it's based on this week only and disregards all other weeks.
Hence, the "of the week" part of the award title....
Yeah, the only other player you could possibly give it to would be Posey - maybe they could have shared it - but, Pryor ran for 100+ yards and accounted for well over 300 yards total ... and, if I am gonna criticize him then he should be praised when he performs well and those are good numbers, no matter the competition.
I am not saying it was a great performance, but it was the best on this team this past week.
And that is the exact reason why the photo of him climbing Posey's back to dunk the ball in the end-zone will be the picture on my laptop for the week to come.
Bob Griese will be taking a siesta next Saturday!
Doe anyone know if Boren has won the Jim Parker yet this year? If so, how many times?
I'm thinking he hasn't.
