As some of you may have already noticed, comments are now threaded giving you the opportunity to reply directly to an individual comment instead of the @SomeHandle and Anon @ 3:15 we've had to resort to in the past.
Seems to be working fine, but please let us know if you see any buggines (along with the browser you're using if you don't mind).
Update: If things are looking funny for you, try clearing your cache.

Comments
the only thing i don't like so far is that if you check back after there have been more than 4 new posts, you have to go all the way back and see if there's any new replies you missed, since they're not completely in chronological order anymore and i'm OCD like that and hate missing a post, haha
It's cool.
It's not completely functional with Firefox though.
Should've specified a little more. When using Firefox:
Font size is huge.
The border around the comment doesn't show up.
The Reply button doesn't show up, just the text "Reply" and it's still functional.
Not a big problem since I mostly visit this site at work where I can only use IE.
i'm using firefox, and once my computer crashed and restarted, it's fine. try updating firefox maybe?
I'm using firefox, and no problems, though that may be because I'm on a Mac.
K now it's bothering me, I can't get it to look normal. I'm running the latest Firefox on Vista, only addons I have installed are Adblock and NoScript.
Nevermind, figured it out. Just disabled and reenabled my addons.
I am posting to try it out...
Spiffy styling, though I never found threaded comments useful. I'm still conditioned to looking at comments chronologically, and can usually recall all comments even in enormous threads to where threaded comments aren't useful for me.
Curious, since we're on the topic of service updates, can I make a pretty-please inquiry for the gravatars to be a bit bigger? A lot of users here have neat-looking gravatars, but I can't really see much of them at just 32px.
I like it...looks good!
Firefox 3.0.4 on Windows XP SP2
No problems.
Looks bad to me so far but I think I just need to update firefox, let you know after that
If anyone is having problems with the layout, try clearing cookies and cache first (under "Clear Private Data" in Firefox).
Works fine for me! Go Bucks!
Not a big fan of the threaded comments as much as the "quote and reply" comments like sportingnews.com and message boards.
quote and reply would be really nice, but i think it might be a lot of work to get that working, so i'm happy with just copying and pasting and putting in quotes. Still better than threaded comments imo
that said, i appreciate just having this board so i'm not gonna complain
While everyone is making requests how about the ability to edit comments?
Unfortunately, that's easier said than done. WordPress 2.7 removes the comment loop essentially and writes everything out for the comments with one function. I'll check into it, though -- it may involve tweaking a callback.
Edit would be gold, but unfortunately, that's not supported out of the box yet.
if there was an editing function, we'd probably have to sign up for accounts, otherwise you could edit someone else's comments. I like this format where anyone can post, it encourages new readers to post
Also, our frequent typos provide ample fodder to mock one another's intelligence, rather than respond to the merit of an argument. And that is fun for everyone
Question to the computer savvy about clearing a cache--if I do that, do I lose all of the saved passwords I have on Mozilla? Cause I don't think I remember half of them anyway if I did that.
there should be a list of check boxes where you get to decide exactly what privated data gets cleared. you can deselect your saved accounts and passwords
no, those should be saved in cookies, but if you use that keyboard shortcut, i think it *might* clear cookies. just go to tools -> clear private data, but make sure you un-check cookies (or only check cache).
and yeah, responding to typos is so much more amusing, lol
darn, miguel beat me to it... if i only had an edit button so i wouldn't look retarded now, haha
this looks terrible to me... images over words... please go back to the way it was...thanx
this is really much better, just try clearing your cache/reading what everyone else has been saying. you'll discover this is a very nice change
I'm still working with WP2.5.1 over on my blog, am I missing anything for not updating to 2.7?
The new admin interface is pretty damn awesome. And of course the threaded comments, which is probably just the first of several cool comment tweaks since Automattic's purchase of Intense Debate.
Even if you're not a fan of threaded comments, the admin interfacelift alone make it worth it.
Tell us how you really feel, PBB. ;)
Nice.
Me likey.
Trying my new gravatar...
HaD to decide between AJ Hawk and Navy Chief...
i don't see it
oh, now it's there!
Changed it though...
but it won't update
shit rules, end of story
Ok I just hit that CRTL+SHIFT+R and it shrank my font down. How do I fix it? I wish I knew more about this stuff.
You must have hit something else, but to fix it in IE (if you're using IE), you merely use the taskbar at the top to select "Page" then "text size".
I'm using Avant because Firefox crashes this gankity old computer, so I can't help there. IIRC it's under "View" in Mozilla
Eleven Warriors is the bomb diggity...
January 5th, Arizona....section 439...row 10...i'll be there...gonna try to make an out of hound shirt for the game..haha...anyone else going?
Re: The poll
Only 10 votes in so far but OL Marcus Hall holds 7 of them over some big names in Tahj Boyd and Marlon Brown. The skill positions are fun and all but good to see the majority agrees on the area we really need to improve on. And that we need to keep recruiting guys with the same last name.
LOL we do always get alot of "halls" flip
