Who picked Navy tomorrow?????
I chose the Confidence scoring, and now it won't let me join.
And I picked Navy.
I did too!
Can you guys create a new entry? Sorry -- I should have put that in the rules.
put what in the rules? No picking Navy? It turns out I picked Wake, though, bad memory.
No, I was talking about the confidence part.
I picked Navy, and I did it without having known the teams met up in the regular season.
Don't let me down, Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada!
Just heard that Michigan lost another recruit, this time a pretty big one in QB Shavodrick Beaver (lol?). Ouch.
and Michigan lost that recruit to TULSA. Yes, TULSA. What has become of Michigan football when a Michigan verbal is solid only until something better opens up... FROM TULSA.
Seriously, what is up with Michigan recruiting? Without exaggeration, I've lost track of how many 2009 verbals have decommitted.
I hear RichRod is trying to recruit Pat White.
Michigan already has one QB commit in Tate Forcier. Not the end of the world, but close. Either way, chances are Steven Threet's your starter going into 2009
I have my doubts about Forcier's ability to lead that offense. If memory serves, his older brother was recruited to play QB at Michigan, only to later transfer to Stanford when he couldn't see the field; I think he was stuck behind Henne. If his older brother can't play well enough to push Chad Henne for playing time, he of four consecutive losses to Ohio State; well, I wouldn't worry too much.
Beaver was dangerous though. If he is gone, that's great news. I'd look for Michigan to push hard for Tajh Boyd.
I voted for Marcus Hall in the poll here the other day - I'm officially withdrawing that endorsement (in the hopes that the Glenville pipeline can take care of things on its own without MY help - Ha!) and throwing it to Tajh Boyd, if for no other reason than to deny him to Michigan (Brian at MGo just mentioned him as a possible replacement for Beaver).
It's almost - repeat ALMOST - enough to make me feel sorry for the Wolverines. For fuck's sake, what an Xmas gift: Now they're looking (assuming they don't find another one) at a QB roster of R-Jr. Cone, Jr. Sheridan, R-So. Threet and TRUE-Fr. Forcier. What a mess.
AND they're going to install a WHOLE NEW DEFENSE. AND they've gotta hope DT Will Campbell is willing to play in that defense and recommits. AND etc., etc., etc.
Actually, I'm starting to understand why Shavodrick thought Tulsa would be a better place for him.
I wouldn't judge the abilities of a player based on who he's related to. Unless he's a Clausen or something.
I was looking forward to calling him Shaved Beaver every time we faced him. Oh well.
There's a nice battle underway between the "let's not panic and give RR some time" crowd and the ones that catch early glimpses of the cluetrain.
I suppose he can ultimately turn things around, but this thing has been one disastrous event after another since he accepted a job. Every university is going to make a bad hire now and then and the Wolverines haven't had one since waaay back. Even Moeller was a good hire when you just judged him by what his teams did on the field.
I'm really trying to get this done but it keeps giving me page load error when i try to join in..
Ok i finally got it but I missed the first pick..
Nevermind its locked.. guys can I please join? I already got my picks.. it just won't let me pick the first game.. so I'm already out one game.. I've been trying to get this to work for the last hour..
Sorry, Baba Booey, but ESPN holds the keys to that stuff. We'll have another contest (with some fresh prizes) for the Fiesta Bowl.
:'(
first, fresno state had no business losing to CSU.
Second, sounds like dickrod needs to call up petey carroll and ask how to get away with paying recruits. College football is better when michigan is good. I root for them to go 11-1 every year.
That's what happens when you pick a coach that doesn't fit your school. To the michigan AD's credit, they went after guys like Les Miles and Greg Schiano first, and couldn't hire them away. We could always offer them a hell of a deal on Jim Bollman.
I really liked that Stoops made a point to have Thomas break the Pac-10 receptions record with that last pass. I don't think BYU was insulted by the play. It was a nice rudy-moment to end the game.
so i'm now 0 for 5... i wonder if i can manage to get ALL of them wrong...
Hawaii was never a Utah, even with Brennan. CSU would punish UH most years. The WAC sucks. Gartrell Johnson ran for 285-probably more if he wasn't tired from all that running. MWC teams would feast on the "Rainbow" bumper-sticker defense. The mainland rules.
