Buckeye Blotter: Simmons Pleads Guilty
Looks guilty to me…After being arrested last July for having sex with a 14 year old student, former Buckeye captain Jason Simmons plead guilty today to three counts of sexual battery meaning he could face up to five years in the hole.
Additionally, DDN noted he’s earned the title Tier Three Sex Offender meaning he’ll have to keep law enforcement informed of his address for the remainder of his life.
Unfortunately, the judge didn’t order him castrated but I’m sure 5 years in the joint for doin’ the dirty with a 14 year old will result in a few beatings, at least.
Maybe I’m crazy, but you’d think a former Buckeye captain could parlay stories of the glory days into some action with a woman of legal age.
Bare minimum his record of 4.0 sacks in a game (Washington, ‘91) should yield some dry humping from a Dayton area Cougar if he played his cards right. Ridiculous.
Former Buckeye or not, dude can rot in the clink forever for all we care.

Curious: how many Bruce or Hayes era alumni had serious legal/developmental issues like this? We all know about Schlichter, but it seems that Cooper era players have had the worst fall from grace (Alonzo Spellman and Nicky Sualua immediately come to mind. Derrick Foster apparently got himself in some trouble. Any others?). Are there more, or am I confusing things like Reggie Germany’s 0.0 and Terry Glenn’s academic problems in 1994 with the more serious problems that people like Spellman got themselves into?
Creepy, out of nowhere post.
Alas, Monday also brings you good new: James Jackson, currently of the state of Michigan, decided that Ohio State was his school.
Along with James, comes a reported 4.31 forty. If Jamaal Berry (4.3 forty) signs with Ohio State as well, does that mean Jim Tressel has to have a competition to see if any student can beat them in a race?
I can take him Poe haha!
If mugshots could plead, his says slightly guilty.
Spellman is Bi-polar and stopped taking his meds, that’s why he went nuts. Sure, we get our arses kicked be the SEC, but at least we had players who weren’t felons…this ranks up there as one of the worst crimes you can committ.
I never did like that David Schwimmer guy. Pervert.
“Bare minimum his record of 4.0 sacks in a game (Washington, ‘91) should yield some dry humping from a Dayton area Cougar if he played his cards right. Ridiculous.”
Best line I have read in a long time, classic!
Sick display by anyone, none the less a former buckeye captain. Have a miserable stay in the clink.

Best line in a while.
“the judge didn’t order him castrated”
Would be the best line if you could change the word “didn’t” to “did” and added “without anesthetic” at the end.
WV native RichRod says “She was 14, I don’t see what the issue is. Were they not related?”
on a up note we got a huge pick up in james jackson or JJ part two.
Don’t underestimate the needs of Dayton area Cougars. Ever since Big Vern broke the record, he’s the new star in town.
Was on the team with him in the early nineties and am still trying to comprehend that he did this. The Jason Simmons I knew way back then displayed the image of a winner in every area of life: osu star (was the sack leader until Vrabel), good student, never had any off the field issues that was known about, and was a leader who treated everyone on the team the same whether you were a star or a walk on like myself. I guess this proves you never really know people or what their motivations are. After reading the court records it is just so pathetic, especially for a married man with children. People make mistakes, but this is so much worse. Oh Well…..
you can all fuck off :)
