cantoncarter2.jpg“All he does is catch touchdowns!”

This year’s inductees to the Pro Football Hall of Fame were announced moments ago and former Buckeye Cris Carter didn’t make the cut. You know, the same Cris Carter that ranks 2nd all-time in career receptions (1,101) and touchdown passes caught (130) behind some dancer named Rice.

Maybe he’s being held acountable for drug issues early in his career even though he overcame addiction and became an ordained minister. It’s just a matter of time before he’s inducted, but I think he should’ve been a first ballot inductee. What do you think?

  1. I don’t think it had anything to do with off the field issues, it had to do with the fact that another great receiver (Art Monk) had been passed up for the last few years and it was time for him to get in, and it’s hard to elect two receivers from the same time period in the same year. I agree Carter deserves to get in, but you have to assume he may not get it next year either considering Michael Irvin was passed up again, and he also deserves to be in.

he may not get it next year either considering Michael Irvin was passed up again

Might want to fact-check that one:

Carter is a no-brainer over the Pipemaker. Irvin played on better teams, but there’s little doubt who the better receiver talent was.

    Oh and what OPS said.

  4. Absolute joke. There is NO reason anyone could give me, that would make me think that he should have to wait. Very disrespectful of a more than worthy candidate.

Chris Carter is an all time great and definetly deserved to be a first ballot hall of famer. Another case of people eating some hater tots. The media hates Ohio State, Ohio State Players, and NFLers that played for Ohio State. Makes me sick. Chris Carter gets no love while MEshawn “give me the damn ball’ Johnson is somehow on tv and has his ego stroked daily because he went to the University of Spoiled Children(usc for all that don’t know the alternate name). …. it’s rediculous. He better make it in next year, or else i’ll have to call the police to investigate this crime.

Why should Cris Carter be in the Hall of Fame? All he did was catch touchdowns.

Completely ridiculous. Makes no sense at all.

Total f-ing bullpoopie! He is 1 of the top 5 all-time receivers AND he helped to make Randy Moss!!!!!

This is a real head-scratcher. Buddy Ryan must be the chairman of the committee.

  10. It doesn’t make a damn bit of sense. Lately it seems that unless your name is Rice, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee makes it very difficult for Wide Receivers to get in on the first ballot (Irvin, Monk and such)

If both were in their primes, I’d take Carter over Monk for my team.

What baffles me are these idiots on the panel who refuse to vote for first time ballot players. Does making him wait a year, two years, etc. make him a better player? NO! Carter should be in the Hall of Fame, and he should be in yesterday.

  13. He should be in, no question but I also wonder if his signing with an agent while at OSU might be a side issue.
