The Aftermath

OSU MVP Mike Conley sinks Badgers
Everybody has an opinion after the Buckeyes beat Wisconsin to clinch the outright conference title Sunday afternoon in the Schott. The ugly win catapulted OSU to the top spot in both the AP and the Coaches Poll while Wisky fell to #4 in the AP and #5 in the Coaches, respectively. On the bright side, Wisconsin’s Brian Butch vaulted to #1 in the Disgusting Injury Poll after dislocating his elbow in the loss. As an historical footnote, the Buckeyes haven’t been #1 in the AP Poll since way back in 1962 when Jerry Lucas and the boys were running thangs.
According to Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology, OSU has finally garnered a #1 seed in the Big Dance. With the questions swirling regarding what this team will accomplish in March, it seems they are becoming the Rodney Dangerfield of NCAA hoops despite being the top ranked team in the land.
Jeff Goodman of FoxSports discusses how Mike Conley led OSU to their first true statement win of the season while Luke Winn of CNNSI takes it a step further by correctly pointing to Conley as the undisputed MVP of this team.
Lastly, I want to give a quick shout out to Joe from CJ O’Malley’s Pub in the bustling metropolis of Pataskala, Ohio. May you forever effort to keep women’s basketball off the projection screen.

Somehow, Oden has been named Big11Ten player of the week. I personally would have given it to Conley Jr. Against Penn St. he only had 8 points to Oden’s 17, but had 10 assists. Against Wisky Conley Jr. had as many points as Oden (11), had 4 assists to zero and he OUTREBOUNDED the big man 6-5 (2 offensive to Oden’s nil). Not to mention only 5 turnovers in 2 games.
And don’t forget that sweet crossover…….that was a thing of beauty.
