The honors just keep rolling in for Mason Jobst. The Ohio State sophomore collected the Second Star of the Week from Big Ten Hockey, one day after being named First Team All-B1G. It is his third weekly conference accolade of 2016-17.

Jobst's Second Star nod follows another killer series for the Buckeyes' leading scorer. He capped off the regular season with four points at Wisconsin, a goal and an assist in each contest. Jobst's contributions helped fuel the Scarlet and Gray's rebound sweep of the Badgers.

Those four points also boosted the Speedway, Indiana native into a share of the Big Ten scoring title. He drove to the finish and ended the year with 34 B1G points (13 goals, 21 assists). Jobst splits the crown with Minnesota's Tyler Sheehy who also had 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) on the season, but zero points in his final series against Michigan State.

It is fitting that Jobst should end the regular season in an outpouring of Big Ten recognition. For much of the non-conference portion of the year he toiled in the second ranks of Buckeye scorers. Then, when the B1G slate began and the games mattered most, with injuries and illness felling the Bucks' top point producers, Jobst stepped up. He skated in every conference contest and contributed at least a point in all but three outings.

Thanks to the recent efforts of Jobst and company, Ohio State rides a wave of momentum into its opening game of the Big Ten tournament on Thursday. Opening faceoff against the Spartans is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. All B1G tourney games air live on BTN and are available to stream online via BTN2Go.
