The Big Ten is all about the Northeast Corridor these days. Ever since the league added Rutgers and Maryland as its 13th and 14th teams four years ago, a focus has been placed on events and outreach to New York and Washington D.C., respectively.
Today saw the first ever “Super Saturday” at New York's Madison Square Garden, featuring a basketball-hockey doubleheader. Wisconsin and Rutgers got things going on the hardwood when the No. 15 Badgers escaped with a 61-54 overtime victory. A few hours later and a quick change of the floor from wood to ice and Ohio State squared off against the Badgers in another flavor of five-on-five in the nation's most famous sports venue.
