Ohio State bulldozes Grambling State 70-0 and improves to 2-0 on the season.
Kayden McDonald has been one of the most impactful defenders for Ohio State through two games.
On the first play of the Buckeyes' second half against Grambling State, the nose tackle levied a massive hit against Tiger running back Byron Eaton Jr., knocking the football free, even as he and most of the other players on the field didn't realize it at first. One player who did, however, was Ohio State freshman linebacker Riley Pettijohn.
Pettijohn scooped the loose rock off the turf and dashed it 23 yards the other way for a scoop-and-score touchdown, Ohio State's first defensive score of the 2025 season.
Might as well add a defensive TD

The Buckeyes took a 42-0 lead over the Tigers with the score, which marked the end of the day for Ohio State's starters as the second-team defense (including Pettijohn, who had rotated in with the first-team) took the field the next drive with the second-team offense to follow.
Pettijohn looked like a monster in his reps for Ohio State, and kept his hot day going with a big hit and forced fumble against Tiger running back Andre Crews. Freshman defensive end Epi Sitanilei recovered the fumble.
