On the first drive of the game for the Ohio State offense Saturday, Thayer Munford left the field to head to the medical tent.

Munford, the Buckeyes' starting left guard, was slow to get up after getting rolled up on during a run play, but remained in the game for the next couple downs. However, Munford eventually hobbled off to the sideline and went to the medical tent. (Update: Munford returned for the Buckeyes on their first offensive drive of the second quarter).

The fifth-year senior was injured early in the Buckeyes' Sept. 18 matchup with Tulsa, and missed the subsequent contest with Akron. Munford returned against Rutgers last week and started in his usual spot.

In place of Munford, fourth-year guard Matthew Jones has played well for the Buckeyes, earning a champion grade in each of the past three games. Jones came in the game for Ohio State once again Saturday when Munford left with the apparent injury.

Ohio State capped its first drive against the Terrapins with a touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud to Garrett Wilson to give the Buckeyes a 7-3 lead over Maryland after the extra point.
