Jerome Baker's future seems to be set in Miami.

The Miami Dolphins selected Jerome Baker in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft. According to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, the former Buckeye linebacker has agreed to a three-year extension worth $39 million.

Back in June 2018, Baker signed a rookie contract that was worth $3.8 million over four years. That included a $975,200 signing bonus. Over his first three seasons in Miami, Baker has recorded over 300 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and picked off a pair of passes. The Dolphins run a base 3-4 defense, and Baker has been a mainstay at one of the inside spots.

Baker spent three years in Columbus from 2015-2017. During his Buckeye career, he recorded 159 tackles, seven sacks, and two interceptions. Perhaps his biggest play came on the road against Oklahoma in 2016 when he picked off Baker Mayfield and returned it 68 yards for a score.

He's coming off a career year in Miami, where he had 112 total tackles and seven sacks, the second-most sacks of any player with more than 100 total tackles in the NFL last season. He also recorded two forced fumbles and three pass deflections in 2020.
