Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye. Across the Shield follows those who once wore Scarlet and Gray on their journeys through the NFL.

Taylor Decker... Scores!

The former Detroit Lions first-round draft choice is well known for his blocking, but yesterday, Taylor Decker got to live a lifelong dream and catch a touchdown pass on a trick play.

Congratulations to Decker. Unfortunately, the left tackle got caught up in the adrenaline and chucked the ball in the stands. He does want it back, however, and is soliciting for help on Twitter.

Zeke Keeps Eating

There hasn't been a hotter running back over the last month or so than Ezekiel Elliott. He kept it rolling on Thursday in the "Battle of the Buckeyes," as Zeke and the Cowboys defeated the New Orleans Saints.

Elliott rushed 23 times for 76 yards (3.3 ypc) but did the bulk of his damage in the passing game, where he caught six passes for 60 yards and this touchdown.

There was a lot happening elsewhere in this game by former Buckeyes:

Cowboys:

RB Ezekiel Elliott: 23 carries, 76 yards; 6 catches, 60 yards, 1 TD

RB Rod Smith: 3 carries, 2 yards

WR Noah Brown: 1 reception, 9 yards

Saints:

WR Michael Thomas: 5 receptions, 40 yards

S Vonn Bell: 6 tackles

S Kurt Coleman: 4 tackles

CB Marshon Lattimore: 10 tackles, 1 forced fumble

CB Eli Apple: 6 tackles

WR Ted Ginn, Jr.: DNP (injured reserve)

QB J.T. Barrett: DNP (practice squad)

Joey Bosa Keeps Rolling

After coming back from injury, Joey Bosa now has three sacks in three games.

According to the ever reliable Twitter, Bosa was being held for a majority of the game, but still managed to make his presence felt. Bosa had six tackles in addition to that sack.

Elsewhere in this game, Cameron Heyward recorded four tackles.

Curtis Samuel Has Career Day

While he didn't score, Curtis Samuel had a career afternoon in the Carolina Panthers' loss to Tampa Bay, snagging a career-high six catches for a career-high 88 yards.

Fans have been clamoring for Samuel to be a bigger part of the Carolina offense in recent weeks, and although the Panthers did lose, it seems their wish was granted.
