Week 6 of the Coaches Poll is here. The Buckeyes held at No. 9 despite the blowout of Rutgers in Piscataway.

USC's loss to Washington State presented Ohio State the opportunity to climb a spot in the latest rankings. Ohio State was never going to make too big a move as most of the teams ahead of it either scored big, convincing wins (e.g. Alabama, Clemson) or were on a bye (e.g. Oklahoma, Michigan).

However, that it stuck at No. 9 in the latest rankings comes as a mild surprise. USC fell from No. 5 to No. 15 but Washington State failed to crack the top ten after the stunning upset in Pullman. Instead, it's Wisconsin that leapfrogged the Buckeyes in the top ten. Wisconsin climbed two spots to No. 8, leapfrogging the Buckeyes in the process.
