According to a report today from Scout.com, Ohio State is scheduled to receive another visit from five-star running back Cam Akers – and soon.

From Chad Simmons:

"I plan to visit Ohio State June 3rd and 4th, then I will be at Florida State June 15th and 16th before visiting Tennessee June 17th and 18th.

Akers was in Columbus this past spring, checking out the Buckeyes during one of their spring practices and continues to be the primary running back target as Ohio State looks to complement J.K. Dobbins.

Akers, the 15th-ranked prospect in the country, will be traveling almost nonstop over the next few weeks as he starts to narrow down his college choices. He's expected to release a Top 10 list soon and Ohio State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU, Georgia and others are almost certainly going to end up on the list.

Another 2017 star that plans to enroll in college early, Akers isn't likely to make a public final decision until this winter, which may actually work out in the Buckeyes' favor since they're in such a precariously tight position with scholarship numbers.

A former Alabama commit, Akers has been to Columbus twice before, a sure sign of his family's legitimate interest in Ohio State's program. Tony Alford has been the main man in his recruitment and that relationship has been pivotal in helping give the Scarlet and Gray a strong chance to reel in the Clinton, Mississippi star.
