Seth Towns is back.

After missing the entire 2021-22 season with a back injury, Towns will be back for a seventh season of college basketball as he’s decided to return to Ohio State next season.

Adam Jardy of The Columbus Dispatch was the first to report the news.

After having back surgery in September, the Harvard transfer initially had plans to rejoin the Buckeyes at some point during the 2021-22 season. That plan changed, however, as Chris Holtmann announced in February that he would miss the entire season.

Though Towns has been in college basketball for six years already, he is eligible to return for a seventh, and he will take advantage of it.

The 2021-22 season marked the fourth-straight year Towns has missed extended time due to an injury. After he was named the Ivy League Player of the Year in the 2017-18 season, Towns missed the subsequent two years entirely due to ongoing knee injuries. Towns then missed the first six games of this past season for the Buckeyes while continuing to rehab injuries.

Towns hopes to return to the Buckeyes fully healthy next season.
