Ohio State's hiring of Butler assistant coach Ryan Pedon isn't official. Judging from changes made to his eight-year-old Twitter account, however, that announcement won't be far off.

New Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann said Monday he planned to have his staff together in "the next few days." After Butler hired Milwaukee's LaVall Jordan, it cleared the way for Holtmann's former assistants to join him in Columbus.
Pedon, a Bexley native, is the staff recruiting ace. He played his college ball at Wooster and coached at Miami, Kent State and Toledo. He knows Ohio prep basketball well and is tight with four-star class of 2018 small forward Jerome Hunter of Pickerington North and four-star class of 2019 point guard Jeremiah Francis of nearby Pickerington Central. He was also instrumental in landing Massillon's Kyle Young.
It will be that last name most worth watching.

Pedon played a big part in helping Butler land its highest-rated recruiting class ever in 2017. A big part of that, Ohio native and top-100 prospect Kyle Young, could potentially come with the Butler staff to Ohio State as Young originally chose the Bulldogs over the Buckeyes.
Pedon did not include an official title in his Twitter update. Look for the hire to be officially announced by the end of the week.
