The NCAA is increasing the limit for off-campus recruiters to 16 for football coaching staffs this spring.
On Thursday, the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee approved a waiver to increase the limit on off-campus recruiters to 16 for this year's spring contact period, which lasts from April 15 through May 23. No more than 10 coaches will be allowed on the road at one time, however.
The normal limit for off-campus recruiters is 10, so the increase should benefit Ohio State's staff of 11 assistant coaches. It'll give new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith a chance to get out on the road and meet some of the Buckeyes' prospects on offense.
