For the folks who think the sky is falling and who are probably too young to remember the Cooper Era or the early Tressel years.
 

Kyle McCord has done statistically better in his 1st two starts, than Craig Krenzel did in his 1st two starts. Krenzel’s 1st start came against Michigan in 2001. He went 11-18 for 118 yds and one INT. 2nd start 2002 opening game against Texas Tech, went 11-14 for 118 yds 0 TD. Krenzel didn’t throw his 1st TD pass till the next game against Kent State.

Against Akron 2 years ago he went 13 of 18 for 319 yds and 2 TDs. Last week he went 20 of 33 for 239 yds and 1 INT.

I know it’s not the best comparison because  2001 Michigan was better than Akron and Indiana. But Texas Tech defense was probably worse than 2023 Indiana and we had also had Clarett toting the rock in that game. Let the season play out, nothing we’ve seen in the 1st game doesn’t mean we can’t contend for a Natty

EDIT: For the Krenzel haters here is a QB evaluation done by noted OSU hater Gary Danielson late in the 2002 season. Again you don’t get drafted into the NFL if you are a bad college QB. Even if you are good QB at the college level you might not get drafted
