I thought yesterdays performance was lackluster overall, and that the players are not really at fault. I really feel it's the play calling and schemes. In some ways I thought Day would have learned from the GA game, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The qb wont run it and the play calling is ultra conservative. I hope he turns over the play calling to BH because there's no way he's going to leave his studs out there to dry. Not even one jet sweep with Harrison?, hitting Harrison in the flat and letting him make plays? So pedestrian. You watch USC, Colorado, Bama, etc, they are going for it, and the play calling is exciting, fresh, fast, get the ball to your playmakers and let them make plays. I feel it sad, and if I was 5 star watching that game I would seriously wonder if OSU is the place to be. As for "not showing anything in the lead up to ND", I think that absurd. That game looked a lot like the Spring Game. Again, if I was a player I would be seriously disappointed. Day just need to loosen up. He's to tight and it's reflected in the play on the field. Let these stars loose and let them play!
