After J.K. Dobbins didn't participate in mandatory minicamp in the spring and missed the first 14 practices of training camp, the Baltimore Ravens activated the former Ohio State running back off the physically unable to perform list on Monday, the team announced.
“It feels good to have him back here on the field. He’s excited. We’re all excited,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “We’ll probably ramp him up a little bit this week and work him in there and try to be smart in how we do it, but he’ll be fine. He’s 100% healthy. He looks good, (and) he’s been training hard, so he’s ready to go.”

After totaling 134 carries for 805 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games (one start) as a rookie in 2020, Dobbins missed all of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in his left knee. The former second-round pick came back and notched 520 yards and two touchdowns on 92 carries in eight games during the 2022 campaign after missing six straight games due to arthroscopic knee surgery on the same knee.
Over his final five games last season, he averaged 6.5 yards per carry and notched 120-plus yards in each of his first two games back. Dobbins also ran for 62 yards on 13 carries and caught four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Entering the final year of his contract, one that will pay him $1.391 million this season, Dobbins expressed frustrations about his contract situation earlier this offseason.
If he remains healthy, Dobbins has a chance to prove his worth in the final year of his rookie contract before entering free agency following the season.
