Let me preface this by saying I am a get off my lawn kinda guy and not really a big fan of NIL. That being said, I’m not here to argue it’s merit or start any chaos. 
I was reading a thread about players sitting out the bowl games and the consensus seems to be that most think it is ok because the players are protecting future dollars. I’m going to throw out a differnt angle. What about the current dollars the players are making from NIL. If a “company” is paying a player for an endorsement for the 2021 season, one would think that would include a bowl game (I realize nobody knows specific contract details), and the player would be contractually obligated to play. Maybe, I dunno. 
Another observation on NIL is that I don’t remember seeing any  current Buckeyes doing any tv commercials. Very possible I didn’t see one, and the only NIL deal that got alot of press was the car dealer that gave 10 or 12 guys the leased cars. If they’re not doing ad spots, doesn’t it just amount to paying players ala the SEC business model?
