Tressels, Fickells, Urbans, Days, Johnsons and Days,

The game is on the line, who do you want on the field?

It’s the nature of college football now, especially for Ohio State; you need to play a lot of guys in order to make sure they don’t hit the transfer portal. At Ohio State, all these guys are talented and feel like they should play right away.  If they don't see the field early, they leave.

It seems as if Ohio State is currently trying to play this new "free agency" game by keeping everyone happy and at Ohio State.  Everyone gets to play.

But, I was thinking about my ideal lineup if the game is on the line. Who do I think are the best 11 on both sides of the ball?  I will include players that are injured assuming they will be back before too long.

Offense

WR: Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba (SO)

RB: TreVeyon Henderson (FR)

TE: Jeremy Ruckert

OL: Thayer Munford, Paris Johnson Jr. (SO), Nic Petit-Frere, Dawand Jones, Luke Wypler (RS-FR)...and personally, I would like to see Harry Miller back at center...I hope he is OK

QB: I will take a healthy CJ Stroud (RS-FR) over Kyle McCord (FR)...or Kyle McCord (FR) over an unhealthy CJ Stroud (RS-FR).

Defense

DL: Tyleik Williams (FR), Haskell Garrett, Zach Harrison, and a healthy Tyreke Smith. If Tyreke is not healthy, I will take JTT (FR).

LB: Cody Simon (SO), Teradja Mitchell and Steele Chambers (RS-SO)

CB: Denzel Burke (FR) and Cameron Brown

Bullet: Ronnie Hickman (RS-SO)

Safety: Cameron Martinez (RS-FR) and Lathan Ransom (SO) (2-deep)...and watch for Kourt Williams (RS-FR) as he becomes healthy

Half of the players listed are underclassmen.  With the Big Ten conference shutting down for most of last season...the Freshmen, Redshirt Freshmen and true Sophomores are really experiencing their first season to some degree.  As the season progresses, I think we will see dramatic improvement as these guys have more in-game and practice reps.  For now, I'm looking for continual improvement and seeing this team peak at the end of this season...and really take off next year!

Touchdowns: Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ruckert, TreVeyon Henderson, TreVeyon, TreVeyon

OSU 42 Rutgers 20

Go Bucks! Beat Rutgers! Haskell Garrett for Heisman!
