What are your thoughts on Maryland and Rutgers in the Big Ten after their inaugural year? Are there different schools you think the Big Ten should have added instead of them? 

Personally, I wasn't a fan of adding these two last year and after year one I am still not a fan of the move. I think the Big Ten would have been much better off by adding Missouri and West Virginia instead of Maryland and Rutgers. The Big Ten supposedly didn't add Missouri because Tom Osbourne was opposed to it. That is a ridiculous excuse! The Big Ten would be much better off if Missouri was in the league. It would add more balance to the divisions and add solid football and bball programs as well as a solid fan base. 

West Virginia also would have been a better addition to the league. They add good football and basketball programs and a much more passionate fan base than Rutgers or Maryland. WVU is also a solid academic institution with several nationally ranked academic programs. 

The only defense I ever hear for the Maryland/Rutgers addition is the TV markets they add. Well better football adds more TV's than anything and I don't think there is any doubt that games against Mizzou & WVU would be much more intriguing and challenging than games against the teams the Big Ten added.
